No you use the select tool to select the points in the model and then use the manipulation tool to move it around. All of this in the preview window.
Oh, so *that's* what they're for. I've been able to select bones with the select tool, but the manipulation tool still doesn't do much for me with bones selected, though.
Broken finger makes heavy sad :(
So did you use the snipers "Ok" as a que for the spy to start moving?
hehe ayup, otherwise I wouldn't have known when to move
Didn't think anyone would notice it that fast :(
You should have binded the snipers quiet laugh (creepy) to a key.
The ok was really obvious :v:
Tutorial's done and uploadin'.
made an attempt to load sfm into latest tf2 by renaming ifm.dll to commedit.dll (commentary editor) and bypassing overwriting of the file.

Animation Tutorial :D
Tutorial looks great, I hope to see some good machinimas real soon! :D
I want to get this oh so badly but my fear of Valve is too great.
Oooo by manipulating the animation you can probably streatch the arm to make it look like they're aiming down their weapon sights.
Someone should try that on the engineer.
[editline]01:06AM[/editline]
---------------------------------
Source filmaker,think of the possiblilities!
with the ability to manipulate the animation, and without the need for multiple actors(plus it looks nice motion blur) who knows what anyone could do!
hell, with source filmmaking out, and if a group worked on it... we could have a unofficial tf2 movie!
dunno what the plot would be though :V:
Then again I'm just optimistic.

I was thinking of doing a series of dramatic TF2 battles. Sort of like those semi-staged Battlefield Moment videos for BFBC2.
The purpose of which is to exaggerate those kinds of watercooler moments you have and like to recall with your friends.

:regd09:
Ao..like how the fuck do I use this :V
Im prolly going to get banned for warez, but I downloaded it from the link posted before...and...what do I do now? I installed it, made the short cut and put -tools and shit like that in..but what now?
You open up the shortcut to hl2.exe.
Hold on making fliping off animation for scout.
Oh man I can't wait to do something with this:

That's unbelievable
You open up the shortcut to hl2.exe.
..Obviosly I did that :|
Nothing happens.
You'll also need the tool .dlls. A link was posted for them near the beginning of the thread. Here's my shortcut target: "C:\Program Files\Team Fortress 2\hl2.exe" -game tf -tools -console -applaunch 440 -window -noborder -novid -w 1280 -h 720
Also I'm in the processing of rendering 1 minute 20 seconds worth of footage which is going to take 12 hours, but in the meantime, here's a sneak peek. Beware, it's a huge image:
Dear god what I have done..

I'm really starting to wonder if the Meet The Team aren't done all in the Filmmaker (well, they could have probably upgraded the ASE in their internal version)
Great, I didnt think about using shift to expand the keyframe area :D

Animation Tutorial :D
Thanks a dozen. I never realized you had to select the proper group :D Animating properties of cameras really does give off a nice effect.

[editline]11:01AM[/editline]
Also, you can change the roll of the camera with the alt key.
The animations for the Meet the videos are done in Maya rather in the SFM, since it is a thousand times easier to just animate the entire scene with all the rigs, then export out the animations and place them straight into the game through the SFM.
It would be too cumbersome if all you had to use was FK bone rotations and translations like the animation set editor provides.
