By the way, you can stretch out parts of the animation by pressing ALT and dragging the green part I think.
Try fucking around with that to get a non-idle animation or something.
I'd be working on non-idle animations right now if I didn't have philosophy work. God dammit.

Finally after 3h of rendering (in 1280*1024, even tough i specified 1920*1080).

I'd think a wikia would be more fitting.
I'd think a wikia would be more fitting.
For sure. Someone should get on that.
I'd think a wikia would be more fitting.
I agree, do a Wikia.
Let's just piggyback it onto the already existing TF2wiki.net
It's made, developed, well known
Just make a page here: http://www.tf2wiki.net/wiki/Source_Filmmaker
i was gonna upload some tests but in full HD the thing was 3 gigs and couldnt upload it to youtube. so i uploaded just one thing (a clip thats like 10 seconds)
BUT
the thing wont upload
:(
guys i swear, its 666mb size (no joke)
how can i upload it faster? any other site?

On it! :)
edit:
tomorrow!
I was going to kind of lay my page out more like a community portal to tutorials, films and ideas for not only SFM, but really machinima in Source as a whole, but mostly SFM. I would do a wiki, but i dont like making something thats technically not official, official.
On it! :)
Cant wait

Sounds like you're trying to upload your video uncompressed, find a tool to compress your video with and it'll shrink in size

You can't upload raw files. You have to run them through Sony Vegas or Windows Movie Maker.

Yes you can, it just takes a long time
Anyone know how to fix the Rotate and Transform tool from going all wonky outside of the circle thing?
If you need a good encoder for your raw files, try the free version of Microsoft Expression Encoder 3
It's WMV only and has no limitations (contrary to what you might think). It's quite efficient, even though it's far from being x264.
SD content looks transparent at 2500kbps
Added some info to the wiki.

It's actually not per object motion blur, it's not even motion blur it's just frameblending, and so is the DoF. And the publish to Steam thing doesn't work

There's still the prompt that asks you if you wanna upload it, even if that does nothing, means they were planning on giving you the option, and most likely the final version will have a functional steam upload.
Also hopefully the final version will be more stable, and save cameras.
[editline]12:13PM[/editline]
Also, do we know for sure that they animate the "Meet the Team" videos in maya? It seems possible in SFM, just time consuming.

just imagine the posibilities
Meet the medic is out
Valve is like WTF??!?!?!

I remember seeing an episode of GameTrailers TV where they went to Valve and I'm pretty sure I saw a scene from Meet the Scout being animated in an actual 3d program like XSI or Maya.

I think they're doing that stuff where they put people in some suits and then in a room where it record their movement so it looks more realistic. I know that they did that for all L4D2 animations, it said that in the Dev. comm., so why not do it in a MTT video?

TF2 is animated by hand.
Has anyone had any success with importing VCD files into SFM yet? I've tried but all it does is add a new clip to the sequence with the timeline from Faceposer imported into tracks.
We need to find a way to tell the VCD track to point to a specified NPC or puppet I think. Is there a console command we can use to manually create a named puppet entity in the game? If we can name it with the same actor name as in the VCD, we might be able to link the two up.
I'm hoping to get this working, as it's so much easier to animate the characters in Maya than it is to rotate bones individually.
