Please place tags around the YouTube links. It's also a pretty damn funny video.
Meet the Conspicuous Spy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAAJPlzfw7c
did he kill them? edit: look at the water
did he kill them? edit: look at the water
Yeah I was kind of pissed the water render fucked up, but that's on a count that its multiple demos layered upon each other, thus getting the crap ripple effect. Did they kill him? What do you think?
I saw the water. What was going on there?
Did they kill him? What do you think?
dead ringer and then POw he killed them all and got a gentle-manne medal
Meet the Conspicuous Spy
Happened to me lots of times. Your video needs some different camera angles and music.

Has anyone actually figured out how to remove puppets yet? I've just had an hour of filming spoiled by a demoman playing the wrong taunt.
Has anyone actually figured out how to remove puppets yet? I've just had an hour of filming spoiled by a demoman playing the wrong taunt.
I don't know a way to remove them, but i have to ways to hide them. You know, if you disable them in the timeline, they just stand still at that position, so if you make them run very far away after you've done something wrong, then disable them when they're far away and you won't see them. Another thing would be to move all the bones out of the map or something.
Well yeah sure, we can do it the old way of adding choegraphed_scene entities but the functionality to just play a scene on a model is sitting in SFM tantalizingly. Imagine animating a scene in a 3D program, then adding it to Faceposer then being able to chuck it straight in the game and scrub and tweak through it on the fly. It's going to save days worth of work.
Wait have you tried using a "bot_add", and then using tf_testvcd on it? Or is tf_testvcd not in this build?
[hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgtSULTHItU[/hd] [editline]12:19PM[/editline] Pyro chop
AMAZING!!! did you do that by binding the command to whatever to set the timescale lower?
Hey guys, I'm not meaning to derail this in any way, Keep that in mind. Throughout this thread, I've seen a number of people saying "why doesn't someone just email valve and ask them?" and the only reply has really been "why would we do that?" So I did it. I emailed valve, More specifically I emailed sdk@valvesoftware.com I talked at great length about Source Filmmaker, as well as made a few other suggestions because why make a second email for it. Here is a copy of that email
Dear steam SDK Team. It has come to my attention that some time ago when valve was doing the beta of Team Fortress 2, that they included a set of tools called the Source FilmMaker. It was then removed from the beta with the first patch, and has not since been released. It has also come to my attention that a number of Machinima sites, as well as Facepunch studios, have been using SFM, by either still having the beta, or downloading it which I do not know if that is legal or not. I also have further suggestions for the SDK, that are not directly related to the source filmmaker. my first question in this regard, is what is valves stance on these matters. That is to say, what does valve think of people who still have copies of the old TF2 beta, that they copied and hacked in order to continue to access SFM to this day. I would also like to know what valve's stance is on the downloading of the beta, to this end. The reason I ask the later is that I am unsure who had access to the TF2 beta, at that point in time. To my knowledge, the only people who had access to the beta are people who pre-ordered the game, which means they payed for the beta as well. if that is the case, it would be illegal, however I have also heard rumors that other individuals received access to the beta that did not pre-order. That would have made the beta free, and thus would not be illegal to own or distribute. however there is one final question in that regard, and that is, Is the modification of the TF2 beta, to run without steam, thus blocking updates and tracking, in order to preserve function of SFM, since the first patch removed the contend as well as blocked its use. I'm not sure on the legality of altering the game files, of content nolonger available through steam, or any other source. The next topic I'd like to reach out to is more specific to the source/SDK, in regards to Source FilmMaker. Does valve actually have any plans to release SFM at all? if they do, will it be specific to TF2, or would it work with all Source content? would it be included in the SDK, or be a separate download? would it be free, or would it be a commercial product? if it is being released, can we get an estimate of a release date? many people feel that it might be released after meet the medic, and meet the pyro are released, even those kind of statements have yet to be clarified by any part of valve officially. my final question is, If it is not going to be released, or there are no current plans to release it, If a statement could be made as to the reasons that it would not be released, or any future incarnations of it might be released. The last thing I'd like to bring up are my personal suggestions for additional tools, or content, that could be added to the SDK, and they are as follows 1. animation editor - that is to say for creating animations for NPC's, and otherwise. although the SDK has compatibility with external programs, I am here referring to an internal editor. 2. internal texture editor - I think that is self explanatory, though obviously I do not mean a tool akin to photoshop, rather a tool that is somewhat more advanced than VTF Edit, with minor image editing, such as simple color swapping. 3. Improved Google Sketchup plugins, and appropriate tutorials. Currently they require that you already know how it works due to a lack of documentation. it requires that you copy any source content to your sketchup directory, and convert them since I don't think sketchup can load .vtf files. one other important plugin or tool that needs included in this, is the ability to add bones to objects within sketchup. The reason I put such an emphasis on these is purely because of the logic in adding sketchup plugins in the first place. What is the point of allowing the use of a free program, to do things you could do in a +$500 program, if you still need to buy the more expensive ones. everything you can currently do in sketchup for source, can be done in 3ds max, and other expensive industry tools, but the things you can do in sketchup, still require other tools, Like 3ds max to properly use in source. currently, it is a joke that it's even there because it is so incomplete. I did not bring up my suggestions to say that they are necessary or urgent, as they are just that. Suggestions. I would appreciate a response to this in the future. Thank you for your time - a customer.
Valve have stated that they will release the SFM after the last "Meet the" video is done.
Hi-o, new Video! I think this came out great but YT b0rked the audio out of sync in the middle.

Placing a camera makes me crash. :(
Nice vid, but you should do that fire fix where you replace the fireLayeredSlowTiled512.vtf with a black texture. Also, Im having problems with the moving camera tutorial, I make a new camera, select it at the top, start recording with the "teleport player to camera" unchecked and the "noclip"checked, and it records me as a player without noclip. So basically my moving camera is just another player. Help?
Hey guys, goldrush video was made using this. Check the last CP
Hey guys, goldrush video was made using this. Check the last CP
Haha, I noticed that too.
Placing a camera makes me crash. :(
Make sure you have the blue selection bar hovering above the clip you're trying to place a camera for, if you don't, the game crashes for some reason.
