Sent. Also, be sure to get the tool .dll files which have a link near the beginning of the thread.
I updated the OP with a majority of the information
Someone drop me the link too. Pweeeease?
How do you sync an animation? I want a pyro to hit a spy but the spy dies before the pyro swings the axe.
Could someone send me the link please? MANY THANKS
Nobody is getting the link. Use google.
Damn it guys, are you THAT helpless? It's the fucking FIRST RESULT if you google "tf2 beta torrent", jesus.
How do you sync an animation? I want a pyro to hit a spy but the spy dies before the pyro swings the axe.
The way I do it is by recording a scene, then i copy it. On the copy I record the second actor. If i mess up i delete the copy and try over again with another copy ;). Fool proof.
Damn it guys, are you THAT helpless? I can't get it to work. [editline]08:50PM[/editline] As stated in my above post, I've done everything correctly it just won't load.

I think a static camera would have been better with them moving like that, the circle pan while they are running is just distracting. Nice work though. Also try and move a little closer when he did the axe swing the spy was a bit far away
Has anyone been able to get SFM working with any other Source games? I've tried EP1 and no success, nothing runs when clicking the shortcut. I have it set up as: "directory to ep1 blahblah\hl2.exe" -game episodic -tools -console -applaunch 380 -window -noborder -novid -w 1280 -h 720
This may be a stupid question and may have been answered, but my lazy ass can't find it. Anyway, is there a way to disable the time limit in some maps? I was recording something for a good few minutes, almost done just recording my moving camera, and bam! STALEMATE. I fucking raged.

Since Gordon Freeman doesn't have a model, you'd repeatedly record an invisible person running past a camera over and over. I hope VALVe implements an ability to use it with any game, and some way to change the ingame third person model when recording.
That won't be necessary to record Gordon though, since you can still use it for Faceposer choreographed scenes. I see your point, I just hope that isn't the case.

Episode 1 runs on an earlier version of the Source engine that probably isn't supported by the IFM.
How old are you?
21, thanks for asking. Been trying to get normal Portal to load instead of TF2, but the game will crash if you use the Portal client.dll rather than the TF2 one. You need to substitute a few dlls with ones from the Source Engine 2007 gcf file in order to get cubemaps to compile on the Portal maps, though they don't seem to want to apply themselves to the map. Also, any idea why my Scout is see-through here? He's running and motionblur is turned off. [img_thumb]http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/4215/portaltestwallpaper.jpg[/img_thumb]
Is the install suppose to have some naked man censored and music playing???
Yep, weird screaming Russian music.
I suppose I'm late, but adding in the -tools and stuff to Episode 2 loads up the editor. Atleast... the commentary editor. Wonder if I put something in wrong or this is the tools..
Nope, just commentary/particle/material editor. Got my Portal working: [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RaUrvqmFY4[/hd] Okay so here's the general workflow for SFM working with Portal or hopefully any Source Game (maybe). 1) First, back up your TF2 beta directory somewhere safe. 2) Mystfit and I have only really messed with Portal, but we think you can get just about anything running. You gotta copy the game's content GCF and overwrite everything in the /tf directory EXCEPT for the bin folder. It is important that you leave it unaltered. 3)Rename the Program Files/Team Fortress 2/tf folder to whatever game you're trying to run, like for example I had to change mine to Program Files/Team Fortress 2/portal, EP2 would obviously be Program Files/Team Fortress 2/ep2, etc. 4) Go into the Source Binaries 2007 GCF and extract the vtex_dll.dll to your Program Files/Team Fortress 2/bin folder. 5)Adjust the target of your shortcut to match the game. Instead of
-game tf -tools -console -applaunch 440 -window -noborder -novid
portal would be
-game portal -tools -console -applaunch 400 -window -noborder -novid
And that's it. Just a small note, you won't be able to use gestures or voice commands. Heck half the weapon fire effects won't show up, but otherwise there it is.
I really want to be able to load the SFM for other games. Without downloading those beta files... Since I haven't paid attention to the actual work involved in getting it to work. I downloaded those "Engine files" from HL2world and placed them in my bin folder of Ep2. That won't get me VAC banned will it?
No but it won't do you any good.
