What you say and what Valve say are two totally different things. So forgive me when I say I don't feel your assumption is correct.
Secondly, it's warez of their product. The TF2Beta was pretty much a fully playable game people received after pre-purchasing the game. Meaning it wasn't, and never should be free.
Edit:
Wrong, it was never "Public". It was made available to the people that bought TF2 as a pre-purchase. Secondly, before you reply: "I've bought TF2" If you download a torrent, or a zip/rar whatever containing a non-steam version of TF2. Do you honestly think everyone else downloading that same file, have bought TF2 legitimately? Think for a moment. Lastly: If these crucial files that are needed to run the Film Maker were removed in an official patch update, it's not really rocket science to realise the TF2 Team don't want you messing around with this yet.
No shit, Sherlock.

There are a select few who own the gcf files from before the beta. Those people are doing nothing illegal. I've warned everyone else to search at their own risk.

Sorry are you a bit slow or something?

Although part of this is true. I highly doubt lots of other people have extracted an entire 1gb+ from the Beta GCF, especially before it's first initial update. Even if they have, you're still in the spotlight promoting the reason people are going to go hunting for these files. (Including all the people who do not own said GCF files.)
Meanwhile my computer can hardly run this game maxed out :sigh:
God damnit
I want this in game so bad.
who else agrees.
I want this for Gmod.

I'm doing a test using mutliple instances of my self running across CP_Well. I recorded myself about 60 times, so this should be the biggest Scout rush in TF2 history :v:

thats why you only see like 2 or 3 videos of it. Most of the people who want to crack it dont want to and those with the know how are smart enough to know its illegal.

Doing so doesn't involve a lot of effort, nor is the fact that it may or may not be illegal is a deterrent in this case.
So, bottom line, and rate me all the suprised books you want:
Per-object motion blur + Dynamic DOF isn't going to work in the normal game?

without editing the game or a movie file, not that i know of

Modern Warfare 2 does a good job at it.
I mean in TF2, of course.
Modern Warfare 2 does a good job at it.
MW2 doesn't have any motion blur whatsoever.
MW2 doesn't have any motion blur whatsoever.
It has great Super DoF.
And the DOF in MW2 is complete shit.
It has great Super DoF.
You can do DOF in GMod in real time, it's just not really built into the engine to focus on what you're looking at.
Fuck. I recorded like 60 instances of myself running through CP_Well, and rendered one of many shots, but the fucking SFM crashes when I try to open the save file :emo:
I'm pretty sure that's only available in DX10 or 11. In Crysis you can force just about every Very High setting while in DX9 if you use CVars, EXCEPT object motion blur.
Rated bad reading.
Crysis on DX9 has got object motion blur:

Although it's sometimes bugged on few things:

As far as I know Crysis' per-object motion blur is one of the last layers of post-processing, which works by querying the current vectors of movement, then blurring where it is needed (hence the possible artefacts). It's not frame blending or anything

So i suppose no one's found a work around for the vtf errors yet?
How do I do this? D:
I was playing with the poster export function. Rendered a couple of cool hi-res pictures.

I can only guess they changed the vtf format since the beta?

i figured that, but its something to do with how the textures are coded, so i thought you might be able to change something in the vtf file to make it work.
Even though I want this terribly badly, I think I'd rather wait for Valve to release it properly. They obviously have a non-buggy version for in-house use.
