I'd fap to it. [editline]1st August 2011[/editline] And did someone make a spray for this yet?
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/34208777/sol.vtf
Image is a link to the vtf. Set point sampling and everything, so it doesn't turn to shit when it gets upscaled.

If I right click a GIF and save as name.vtf will it work as a spray?
No, you have to open the gif in photoshop and save every frame as a seperate image. In vtfedit, select all your frames and import. That'll create an animated texture.

Every time I try all the frames are overlapped and there's jackshit I can do about it
No, you have to open the gif in photoshop and save every frame as a seperate image. In vtfedit, select all your frames and import. That'll create an animated texture.
GIMP has a plugin that allows you to change a .GIF into an animated .VTF easily.

How the hell are you people making sprays that exceed 10 frames? Whenever I try to exceed 10 frames they just don't show up at all.

Check the chart I made: http://www.the303.org/tutorials/tutorial03.html
whats the main difference between DXT1 and DXT5, will the quality be worse if I use DXT1?
No image quality change. The difference is DXT5 has bits for alpha channel (used for transparency), and DXT1 has no alpha.
