best buy didn't have it. I'll try to get it at gamestop later, it could be a fun change of pace from pc games.
Oh you PC elitist you.
Derp derp call it what you want, I owned the 360 and orange box first, and the 360 is still better graphically then what I'm using now, I'd still much rather use the PC. I guess that's just preferring something instead of something else huh?
I wonder if the people for PC aren't considering the fact that some people don't have the money to/aren't willing to pay for the expensive parts that make games like Team Fortress run well.
You're trying to prove your point, but instead you're proving mine. :derp:
Not really... Just 1 or 2 points are somewhat more in favour of the x360
Xbox 360 advantages - No long loading - No useless plungins, sounds, etc - Not getting into item and Valve drama - Pick up and play - Simple button layout ( Not like how a keyboard has so many damn keys) - No people bitching about unlockables being unfair - toggable crits PC advantages - Updates ( Hats, maps, weapons etc) - Bug fixes - Custom models and skins - More achievements - All talk - Custom maps - Console - Typing - Voice commands
I dont really wait for long when I play on my pc. I dont play in plugin/sound dll servers Item/valve drama... Meh dont really care about them. They just give me more fun :D Install and play. Its not that hard/long to do you know... Simple layout? Lol? As if the keyboard was hard... Maybe I use less buttons then you even... Unfair unlocks.. Id say only the FaN, but, its a matter of adapting to the game. You always have to adapt. Theres worser stuff then unlocks, in BOTH versions. Toggable crits also exist in the PC version. I go into a server, that every time before the round, it makes a vote about it. Oh and were talking about the games, not the forums. Forums are bonfires waiting for gas to get bigger...
I wonder if the people for PC aren't considering the fact that some people don't have the money to/aren't willing to pay for the expensive parts that make games like Team Fortress run well.
If you have money to buy a new console like a ps3 or a x360 and buy games for it, then im pretty sure you have money for a pc aswell, and only if you've been playing soccer with your computer you'll be having trouble fixing it...
I wonder if the people for PC aren't considering the fact that some people don't have the money to/aren't willing to pay for the expensive parts that make games like Team Fortress run well.
my pc is about 2 years old and only cost about £500 and I can play tf2 on high graphics. At the time of buying a ps3 cost about the same amount. [editline]10:28PM[/editline]
Yeah, replacing a part in your PC totally doesn't discrupt your gaming session at all. And any problem is fixed within 10 minutes!
Because consoles don't break down :downs:
Myth TF2 on Xbox is boring because it doesn't have the new maps & unlocks. Truth It's still fun. Saying it's boring without the unlocks is like saying that TF2 was boring at release.
Your opinion doesn't automatically apply to everyone elses' opinions.
Myth There's a lot of little kids. Truth The console TF2 community is actually very mature. With any game, you're bound to have little kids somewhere.
This is somewhat hard to believe. I've played TF2 on the Xbox since release and the most recent patch. The players are typically little shits who don't know how to play the fucking game.
Myth Controllers are hard to play with in first person shooters. Truth It's not. If you're used to Mouse & Keyboard, you'll probably need to get used to the controller. I don't have any problems navigating and getting kills.
Again, your opinion. This isn't fact.
Myth PC is better than Xbox 360 (TF2-wise) Truth It's all about opinion. On Xbox 360, when you see a Scout, you know he has to get close to do damage. On PC, that Scout might have a Sandman.
OK, so it's situation-based now? That does not make the Xbox a better platform to play TF2 on.
Myth Xbox 360 TF2 doesn't get any patches that fix bugs and shit. Truth We do. However, we don't get as many. For the most part, stuff needs fixing on PC due to class updates and new maps. On Xbox, since we don't have the new maps/weapons, we don't need as many patches.
You don't get that many patches because Microsoft impose an 8MB patch limit per patch.
Myth There's no teamwork on Xbox 360. Truth When you talk to your team, they listen. If you know what you're doing, they'll take your advice. They'll work with each other, if needed.
Again, this is based on what YOU'VE played and not what other people will experience.
Myth People on Xbox LIVE are mean little shits. Truth Everyone is actually very friendly on TF2. Unless you say that the PC version is better and then start bitching about the lack of updates. Nobody wants to hear that.
Everyone? Of course you've met everyone.
Myth Spies are garbage. Truth Yeah, for the most part. However, there's a couple Spies that are really good, and I consider myself one of them.
OK, so you're bigging yourself up now. We should all play it now because of your amazing Spy skills!
Myth Everyone is stupid on Xbox LIVE. Truth It's like on PC, some people are stupid, some people aren't.
I remain neutral on this one.
Myth Everyone disables everything but the Sniper. Truth People pretty much just limit Snipers to two, and leave the rest of the classes alone. On occasion you get a single-class game (like an all Spy game), but for the most part there's normal games.
I've never dealt with a class-limit based game on TF2 Xbox.
Myth Everyone mods and it's really laggy. Truth Only a few people mod, and the lag is almost nonexistent as long as you pay attention to the connection strength when looking for a server. Whenever there's modding, it's normally for fun. Stuff like low gravity, HL2 maps, and item spawning for host is common in mod games. I've see people take 2fort and basically make a new map out of it with mods. It's fun.
The likelihood of you finding a modded server was quite high prior to the engine code patch. The lag CANNOT be described as 'nonexistant' because it is ALWAYS there, even with 8/8 players with full green bars. TL:DR: Your opinions and experiences will not be the same as everyone else's.
Wow, the moderator was right, you guys don't read shit. :/
Your opinion doesn't automatically apply to everyone elses' opinions.
I'm just going to quote the first part of your post seeing as what I'm about to say applies to it all; Of course it doesn't automatically apply to everyone elses' opinion. He didn't mean it to - all Agoat wanted to do was be friendly and offer an alternative to TF2 on the PC. This should have also stimulated a debate but it's a shame that none of you know the meaning of the word.
Tried to sign up for XBL. Turns out the sign up / recovery service has been down for weeks.
ITT: OP trying to convert PC TF2 player into Xox 360 TF2 player, knowing that the Xbox version is inferior.
ITT: OP trying to convert PC TF2 player into Xox 360 TF2 player, knowing that the Xbox version is inferior.
Why don't you read the OP before you post? It really keeps you from looking like a complete dipshit.
Surprise surprise, Gabe said if Valve is going to release class updates for xbox TF2, only one free class update is permitted by microsoft. Money whoring microsoft...
Why are you all treating this guy like an idiot? Let me explain: His message: "Try the Xbox version, it's better than you may think!" Your message: "OMFGG gtfo fag lol PC pwns joo lololol." Are you really being so childish? I admit, the PC version is better, but think about it this way: not everyone wants to spend a shitload of money on a top of the range PC, do they? I don't. I'm trying to make do on my laptop, and it ain't exactly wonderful to play at 15 fps. So I play the Xbox version. It might not have unlockables, or new maps, or new gamemodes, but it's still a very enjoyable game (for the most part, anyway). If you don't like my post, boo fuckin' hoo. At least the Xbox version's better than the PS3, for Christ's sake.
Well the OP not being a dick to everyone who disagrees would be a good start.
Give it a while. The Halos will be added for paying another 10 bucks.

You know a thread's epic when Hezzy is in Video Games.

Really? You can't even prove that I'm wrong. All you do is post a video that the person below you made.

I am laughing at the PC gaming elitists in this thread.
Myth TF2 on Xbox is boring because it doesn't have the new maps & unlocks. Truth It's still fun. Saying it's boring without the unlocks is like saying that TF2 was boring at release.
Way to miss the point broseph. While TF2 wasn't bad at launch, it got much more interesting. No one wants to play six maps over and over when they can have 24 maps (not counting duplicates) with extra game modes and weapons, not counting all the custom content available which you don't get on the Xbox.
Myth Controllers are hard to play with in first person shooters. Truth It's not. If you're used to Mouse & Keyboard, you'll probably need to get used to the controller. I don't have any problems navigating and getting kills.
Try strafing, aiming, jumping, and shooting at the same time, then come back to me. Yes, you have to do all that at once fairly often on PC as classes like Scout and Soldier. Of course, since everyone else on the console has the same handicap it's not such a big deal, but compared to the keyboard and mouse it's balls.
Myth PC is better than Xbox 360 (TF2-wise) Truth It's all about opinion. On Xbox 360, when you see a Scout, you know he has to get close to do damage. On PC, that Scout might have a Sandman.
What the penis does that last remark have to do with one being better than the other? Stop going off-topic.
That's funny, I'm looking through the exploit list over at TF2Wiki.net, and it looks like almost all of the unpatched exploits only apply to the console versions! But you don't need bugfixes, do you? (oh, and demoman/soldier are OP, spies are useless (BUT I THINK I'M A GOOD SPY!!!!!11), games are limited to 8vs8 if you're lucky enough to find someone with a connection that can support it, etc.)
Yeah, I'm not gonna go out an buy a 360 just for one game thanks (one that I already have) Besides, this whole Halo v Idler's is just tiring, I don't really care about it all. And I just play the game like I did a week ago.
Yeah, I'm not gonna go out an buy a 360 just for one game thanks (one that I already have)
This thread was aimed at people who already have an Xbox. :P
I am laughing at the PC gaming elitists in this thread.
It's terrible. God forbid somebody tries something new, right? [editline]09:51PM[/editline]
:words:
Then don't play the Xbox version.
Then don't play the Xbox version.
That's cool, bro. When someone calls you out for being stupid, you're like "read the OP durrr", and when someone DOES read the OP and makes a rebuttal to your points, you just go "well, that's like, totally your opinion man". :v:

What, should I start bitching at everyone? I try getting defensive, people bitch. I try letting people have their opinion, people bitch. Is that all PC gamers do?
