I enjoy un-winnable arguments.
I, however, do not enjoy having them with petulant morons - which is what the lot of you are gradually revealing yourselves to be. I feel like I have to draw a graph, or publish a coloring book to draw from the shallow depths of your mind some fragment of reason.
quit using big words this isn't rocket appliances
No. I'm constructing an argument and asking simply that someone else have the common courtesy to do the same.
I'm venting my frustration because all I hear is a chorus of "no", which reflects poorly on those that insist on repeating it over and over. I don't need to apologize for that - I've been given ample permission.
Also, this is how I generally type when I am approaching something with an undue degree of gravity. All I really have to say is:

I can't believe I'm being discriminated against for my diction. I can only say "Wow". I'm not some sort of "LEFTIST ELITIST" who sips wine out of crystal glasses and spits on the homeless. I'm just a guy who likes good videogames and who has a tendency to speak eloquently at times.

Wait, let me get this straight. You're mad at people saying no (with valid reasons that you ignore), so you just say Deal With It? Isn't that a bit hypocritical?
no
Wait, let me get this straight. You're mad at people saying no (with valid reasons that you ignore), so you just say Deal With It? Isn't that a bit hypocritical?
A proper argument demands a proper response.
An ad hominem deserves nothing.
There's honestly no real justifying anything, it's just opinion and that's it. You don't like it, well, somebody else does. I honestly don't care either way. As I said, it's the gameplay that's in need of a rework or a vanilla gamemode.
I agree with the latter point. Even with Valve putting in quite a bit of work to develop and balance weapons, there is a point at which the sheer number of weapons and their individual interactions strips away the possibility for true balance.
Ever try playing a normal Demoman with a Demoknight prowling the map?
here he goes complaining again
I mostly agree with BirdBro about the particle effects even though I'm one of the painted savages who runs around like this:

(maybe I should have gone with the more subdued Violet paint instead?)
I will admit there are some cool things paint can do though.
Black paint + stuntman = a cool looking demoman hat
Absolutely. Black stuntman might be the best looking hat. Can't wait for the trading price to come down.
PS: Heavy bear might actually work aesthetically.
I want a texas slim dome shine with the sunbeams effect.
I want a texas slim dome shine with the sunbeams effect.
Sober Stuntman with regular flames = cash
Yes i personally think it just dumb, it more like mmo now and suddenly we're in WOW now trading items "super duper rare" because it has particles and effects on it.
You could say it unusual annoying. to see.
Less about actually playing game and it's more about the hats :(
Half the times i join, i see this player traded with this player and this player craft this or open this or ate that.
I mean i guess some children out there get a few laughs out of a spy wearing a purple fedora because they're still in that stage where they laugh at people who wear purple things but damn.
:saddowns:
But I do agree to some degree, With some of the community stuff just looking rather rough (like the hotrod) and quite ill fitting (Dr Dapper topper)
Hey, I don't care much for unusual hats either. If I got one I'd trade it. But I honestly don't care that much, if other people like them, they can. I don't give a fuck.
Hats like the Dr's Dapper Topper do clash horribly with the character they're on. Not to mention distort the silhouettes Valve initially worked so hard on to make each class distinct. And the purple/vomit green colors taint the nice red/blue/brown color scheme.
But in the end, eh. I don't take it too seriously.
If you met me in reality, you would know that I am by no means whining. Perhaps that is how you read what I write. While I did "whine" in saying that "hats are fucking stupid", that was more brought on by your infuriating insistence on purporting false indifference. Saying "no" isn't an argument.
TF2 was never a traditional FPS. That was what I enjoyed so thoroughly about the title, it's deliberate deviation from the norm - not into the realm of utter absurdity (the path which it seems intent on following now), but into a world of style, of class. TF2 was different, but in a good way. Now it is different, but in a bad way. You cannot deny that TF2 has become a different game.
I am not obsessing over virtual cosmetics, I am obsessing over what I find to be a pedantic craving for their acquisition.
I try to play the game. I stressed this point in another thread: Team Fortress 2 now parallels a capitalist society in that participants are continuously bombarded with reminders of their material circumstance. The item drop system, the Mann Co. store and its presence on the game's menu, and the near-endless discussion of hats and trading all support this. It is difficult to find a recluse from the perpetual reiteration of the relative important of "material" (in this case, virtual) possessions. I am finding it more difficult to enjoy this once-unique game. I see other people are beginning to feel similarly.

Can you at least understand my point of view?
Technically you are obsessing over them. You're obsessing about how much you think they ruin the game.
Funny thing is I've yet to see a colored hat in TF2 that looked bad like the OP is saying. I've only seen about 3 though. One of them being a White Vintage Tyrolean which looked pretty cool.
You'll eventually see one and when you do you'll know it.
Also, if your counter argument is "all you do is whine" or "no" or any variant on that then you're literally helping validate my proposition that everyone who supports colored hats with particle effects is a petty child. Come up with a decent counter-argument.
I do understand how terrible the painted hats look. (It's like one of those dumbasses in Little Big Planet that spams stickers and decorations all over their Sackboy rather than actually trying to customize it.)
But what I fail to understand is how a few bad paint jobs and cosmetic effects can somehow completely ruin the game for you.
I completely agree with you and think Valve have kinda gone wrong

it hasn't ruined the game for me. i still enjoy it a lot.
but it's just annoying. i'm a person who pays attention to aesthetics, and valve has successfully taken a gigantic shit all over the amazing theme behind tf2 with this new update.
A soldier with a pink hat with confetti falling out of it, in war.
:ohdear:
Everytime there's an update, there's always someone that has to complain.
If TF2 never had updates, it'd be dead by now.
Stop whining, Valve wanted to make money so they sell items.
Players want rare shit, they get unusual hats.
I hate to say it-and I love my Golden Merriweather- but TF2 would have been better off with out hats at all.
it doesn't (in my opinion) have an impact on the gameplay so why does it matter
Just saw the most bad ass customized hat and mask combo.
