Oh, emporium, I've got a request for someone -- anyone!
I've got tons of weapons that I model and sometimes texture, but never do much else with because I'm shit at compiling.
So I came up with an idea! I'll share 20% revenue on submissions with anybody who'd be kind enough to compile my items when provided with smd's and tga's, and also organizing them into the proper folder/file structures in a zip file -- ready to be submitted to the workshop!
It would really be hugely appreciated, honestly. Plus, you get money out of it and a sparkly gun if it gets ingame!
And to end the post, have a screenshot from an animation project that I have been working on for several weeks now.
I was thinking the same thing. Well what is the actual key worth? i was jsut going to use it to open a nice crate, but i realized there should only be about 14 self-made winter keys. and people have started requesting me to trade for it... whats it worth?
No idea, I used mine already on a crate. I assume that they just become normal keys past January first.
Working on the round one right now.
Maybe i will do the square one as well.
Got a basic texture done.
I think this black looks good.
Now to figure out how to make it look Gooood.

I agree with Zadrave on this, you should make it look like a welding mask with some extra parts slapped onto it. Like a makeshift costume.

I can just teach you how to compile. It's really not that hard. Add me.

Trying to decompile this model that only has an mdl, .dx90.vtx, and .vvd (no .dx80.vtx), for size reference, but this keeps happening.
Any idea what to do? I'm using MDLDecompiler 0.5.

I'm interested.
Edit: I ended up just duplicating the dx90.vtx file and renaming it to .dx80.vtx, then it decompiled fine.

(I dont even really like the way it looks.)
(Man i hate it when i get bored.)
Working on new texture for my sentry jumper model. This is how it currently looks. Comments and criticisms welcome.

Actually, I think it'd look cooler as something like a toy car controller. A flat box with a handle taped to the underside, a joystick (perhaps with a switch or some smaller sticks to one side) on the top and a long, jiggled antenna at the end. Brightly coloured with orange and white, of course.
It'd make it seem more harmless and toy-like, considering that it would probably do no damage.
Err make the bolt bigger.
that might look better but to do that i would need to make the body of the gun bigger which would cause clipping
His body is a cylinder with arms and legs. As proof, take a frontal image of him, his "eyes" do not extend to the full width of his head. Then take a side image of him, his eyes are still visible. If his head were a prism, his eyes would not be visible from the side because they would have to only take up a portion of the front of his face :eng101:
Yes, I play a lot of the Bit.Trip series, what of it?
I can't say I love his new look for Runner2 though.

You should also consider working on a laser that identifies it from the Wrangler. Like maybe a green laser that's bigger and easier to see... I'd imagine that if it got ingame, Valve would just make it so that you don't take any damage from your sentry or do any damage to others when you have it out. I'm just saying this in case you were thinking about making a whole new sentry model.

That's the particle department there--and a recolor could work--but that break teamcoloring and may cause some confusion. Perhaps a different type of particle (wave or something else?)
How about a team yellow laser?

Special thanks to kaymon for advice
I would recommend redoing the whole model. Half of it looks like it was ripped directly from the original shotgun mostly the pump. The actual place that the shells come out of looks like crap (why is that part mirrored?). Making an indent to the body where the hammer connects with the body would be nice too.
I don't think so.
I've kept the style of the basic shotgun with a twist, like all the other shotguns in the game (frontier justice, reserve shooter etc...) and there is a double ejection port on both sides because it's supposed to eject 2 shells at the same time per barrel. Not possible right now because it only loads one eject_brass, but if it gets ingame, i'll tell it to valve.
How about a team yellow laser?
Yeah, no. My peeve with it is that you need to be able to identify which team the Engineer is on IMMEDIATELY. You may think that a no-damage sentry is harmless even if the Engineer is just jumping around, but the thing is--that Engineer could be breath takingly dangerous. Remember, he can build teleporters for his team. Those teleporters can go anywhere and have his teammates (even friendly engineers with full level 3 sentries) just waltz right through. That could spell havoc in a number of places, like Frontier. Nucleus, Doublecross, etc. If I have an Engineer who is soaring the map freely--the very same person who can put a teleporter up for his team--just floating around. I want to make goddamn sure he's on my team before I dismiss him as harmless.
someone should really make robotnik's 'stashe and glasses for engineer..
With two styles.

Classic
[img_thumb]http://images.wikia.com/sonicfanon/images/3/3c/Dr.-Eggman--Sonic-Colors-.png[/img_thumb]
And modern. (Modern could also have his bolt things.)
this is a pretty shameful repost and re-edit, sorry guys, but someone should DEFINATELY DO THIS

And hopefully sometime within the next week, she will be in the workshop.
I STILL want to get a hold of Idletard so he can get his more than deserved 50% revenue ):
Since when Misc's can have facial flexes?

He's recovering from a BAD time, so he's still no 100% happy with coming back to modding.
Also if you allow, could I try texturing it?
I was the original texturer for Sonya when idle made it, I could also give you a bit of feedback on the model itself.
Or is that the original model and you're texturing it?
If that is so, good luck with it.
Darkomni, I loved your Mailbox, it was a lot better than the Postal Pummeler.

I think the design could be tweaked to resemble the PPSh-41 more with a more primitive feel with rust and wood parts and such.
