The only thing I would tack on from what I said last time about the bat is maybe have some cracks and damage along the grain of the wood on the bat, to show it's gone through some use. The splinters are improved, but they all look the same. They need to have varying lengths and angles from which the protrude outwards.
... "You should add splinters." "Why did you add splinters?" "Those nails look great." "Those nails are shit." "It's a great baseball bat!" "That doesn't look anything like a baseball bat." "The texture needs paint." "Fuck that texture, restart the whole goddamn model." And now you understand why I hate your criticism. I put hard work into something, you tell me to make changes to the model and after said changes, you say they're great. Then you tell me to scrap the whole fucking project after all this time I've spent working on it. That is bullshit. EDIT: Also I noticed a bandwagon effect because Sparkwire said something. Can't form your own opinion without brony saying something first? Nice fanclub, Sparky.
Well how about you stop trying to remake the same 2 items for a year and try making something new. I may not be a modeler but god damn if one item is bothering you so much move on, try modelling something else or take some criticism.
I never though i would have to google a skull. The things i have had to google since i started modeling.
Guys...I cannot grasp the concept of unwrapping. Help !
Guys...I cannot grasp the concept of unwrapping. Help !
Why are you unwrapping things? Christmas is over :v:
Guys...I cannot grasp the concept of unwrapping. Help !
Practice by doing simple primitives like cubes, cylinders, and spheres. Then start working your way up. it's all about practice.
Guys...I cannot grasp the concept of unwrapping. Help !
Step 1: youtube.
Skunkrocker rant
Rude.
Guys...I cannot grasp the concept of unwrapping. Help !
Think of unwrapping as taking your 3-d model and laying it out flat. Like others have said, practice with boxes and such. Here's an example: This is a papercraft model of Gordon Freeman. It's very simple, so the 'unwrapping' will also be simple. [t]http://www.cubeecraft.com/download/gordon-freeman[/t] As you can see, all the 'textures' for Gordon have been laid out flat, reorganized to take up the least space possible. If you need more help, add me on Steam and I'd be glad to advise you.
And to go with what Corndog said above, now that it's after Christmas, look for boxes and stuff around your home to get a real world example of how and where to cut things to make them lie out flat. Sometimes I find that having something directly in front of you that you can interact with helps the most.
Scout needs less baseball bats. And it is WAY too simmilar to the Boston Basher. Make a board. A board with a nail in it.
........*facepalm*
He has the default, sandman, atomizer Boston basher (which is essentially a modified baseball bat) plus more I am probably forgetting due too Tf2 having a bajillion pieces of shit I don't keep track of. By your (shitty, unoriginal meme based) logic, the heavy should ONLY have miniguns for primaries (tomislav), the sniper should ONLY ever have sniper rifles (huntsman) and more. Variation is good.
