So i know there is a skull for pyro ingame, but i felt like doing one. But the teeth are messing with me. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/nYXcy.png[/img_thumb] There will also be a lower jaw if i can spare enough faces. But i dont know if that will happen.
A. I remake the same things over and over not just because I like them, but for practice. I learn from my mistakes and if I figure out a new way of doing something I use it to remake something I've made before better. B. Baseball bats are Scout's thing. Variation is good, yes, but he already has a mace, a sword, a candy cane, wrapping paper, a fish, etc. so your logic is flawed. C. I like criticism, when the criticism makes sense. Every time this style of criticism comes up it reminds me of Bart Simpson asking for salt until there is too much salt and then has the waiter take his meal back. D. You're thinking of an aluminum bats; this is a wooden bat, and wooden bats look like this. The splinters I made were based off of the pain train, only I made them look more like the splinters from a baseball bat rather than an axe handle. Both are made from wood, yes, but different wood splinters in different ways just like any other object. Now, I added a huge fucking gigantic crack that not only explains why the nails were necessary, but also makes it look more damaged. I shrunk the splinters down. I left the nails the way they were because everyone keeps saying to bend the nails but that doesn't make any sense; they're under going pressure from the wood and wouldn't bend like you think they would. To be honest skunk, the model is pretty good, but it's hard finding a good wood texture that fits in the style of TF2. Try getting a hand from another texturer, Damn ninjas.

(Kinda like coating it in liquid cat nip all over it for the TF2 team) what you see as "Doc Alloy's" is actually the "Valve worthy" on the texture, just the VTF corrects it for you. pretty nifty IMO.

The grip tape on the bat should be given a little bit of shaping, it's far too straight and perfect, or you could make it look similar to the wrapping on the metal bat.

The geometry is really hard to work with because almost no primitives are conducive to the shape. Jamie's mustache gets wider and thicker as it goes down, pretty much the opposite of the first model. Just to be safe, though, I have saved a copy of the first one in case the second one goes all wrong. In any case I need more polygons

I played with the idea of making it look more like rubber by making the edges not quite as perfect and little wavy, but that make it look like tape. I dunno what to do about it.
