There should be some wear on the parts that would most realistically have been dragged or rubbed on, like the bottom pommel of the bat, and maybe the upper middle of it. The rubber you could just give a lot of wear in the texture, or perhaps put some small rips in.

I would actually suggest brightening up the color of the non-worn wood instead of darkening the wear. Right now the wood seems a little dark in general.

Maybe you should try it. Also I do like your goal keeper model but it seems Spark's Leviathan fits the stats more. When I think of a gun that can destroy rockets and grenades, I think of a huge gun.

Just because it might not get into game doesn't mean it's not a fun and uplifting experience. Sparkwire put it best by saying "making the items pays for itself." Although that WAS in reference to the Motherly Father. :v:

Well for the in-game stuff it's just normal set up, for the viewport shots I take em in Maya, using a CG shader, my own lightwarp and what not.

From what I've observed, it just seems like a pain to coerce them to accept any animations or rigging that is beyond what has already been done in-game so far, and then they defy that with some of the weapons that have unique animations for them (Pompson, Cow Mangler, Sharp Dresser, etc) and other rigging for things things (All Father attaching to facial flexes being the most notable in recent history). Do you think they'd possibly accept your original Short Circuit design at some point? Just the concept of a machinegun arm, if I am not mistaken, they wanted an electric-based weapon because it was supposed to be Deus Ex/futuristic themed or something.

So my Goalkeeper won't/wouldn't have the shooting down projectiles stat in the end anyway. *Edit Give me a chance to respond jeepers, there's like 5 people asking me questions simultaneously!

The proportions do look a little bit off to me, but that might not be a bad thing. Could you get this in-game to take some screenshots, perhaps?
