I'm not entirely sure, because I don't check since I don't really give a damn about Medieval, but I've never heard of a melee weapon not working in Medieval. Hell, in the weapon whitelist, they probably just have it allow anything in the melee slot instead of individually allowing each melee weapon. It'd make sense.
