They can't get your items because you agreed to the trade, many times to be exact. Had you have noticed the scam earlier, you would've gotten your stuff
people who usually get their things back are if they accidentally deleted something, or their account got hacked and the stuff went missing

Can't really notice a scam on a middleman with a changed name really, Everyone in the server said he was a legit buyer and seller. I thought I was safe.

Actually the only times that you are ever really safe are by using Valve implemented trading standards such as in game trade or STEAM trade. There were quite a few people with good STEAMrep but turned out to be scammers

there's a bunch of stuff you can do, steamrep is just the first step

He was suppost to be a middleman for a spycrab, Server enforced a middleman only, and this guy did 3 other spycrab middleman jobs before mine. We both traded our hats to him, he changed his name and left.
The entire server didn't know he was a scammer, because he did 3, right before my crab.

I knew the guy myself. He said if either of us won we'd give our hats back. But the server enforced middleman, so we agreed.
