Im kind of worried about the laptop. It got this virus, which made every program get linked to a fake anti-virus which asks you to purchase it to remove viruses it says are inside.
I didnt fall for it, and System Restored. The virus hasnt shown up, Malwarebytes is saying its gone, but I had my Flash Drive in the laptop while this was all happening. Will that be fine, or will putting it back in set it off?
I know nothing of computers. Pls help.

I don't think so, but you might want to consult a better knowledged man.

It depends on where the hell you got the virus. Was it IN the flashdrive?
If not, it might end up finding a path into it, otherwise making it a carrier. And that's no good.
Just unboxed this.

Sweet Jesus that's good.

No, dunno where it came from. But it wasnt from the Flash Drive, I think it was from uhh, a Temp folder or something, in Appdata.

Ah.
Well then, chances are it's gonna find files in there and replicate.
Someone's offering me two BMOCs for my purple fetti ol' geezer, should I accept it?
Someone's offering me two BMOCs for my purple fetti ol' geezer, should I accept it?
Depends. Do you like the BMOC? Do you need TWO?
I don't exactly know the current price of the BMOC, so i'm pretty unsure.

Not sure what to do then. Ive read up on whatever was happening, and they all suggested MalwareBytes, which Im using now, and it isnt picking anything up, and the fake programs it opens havent shown up either.
Just for the record, the virus opened a program called Win 7 Anti-Virus 2012.

Well, it's probably too out-of-date to recognize a newer virus, scrambling it, etc.
I think you might have to clear your Harddrive before it ends up just destroying it.
But only as a last resort.
Really? I have to wipe the entire hard drive?
Shit I totally hijacked this thread. Again.
He really shouldn't have shitposted in LMAO pics if he wanted to stay.
I always thought he was a little.... weird.
he won some stuff from raffles, got some stuff people such as kirbyfactor gifted to him ( flip flops is it?) then sold / traded it away. then regretted it when we called out on him. then said he was quitting tf2 and cleared his stuff. only to come back some time later and begged for stuff again. and kept wanting to science hats although he had close to none, and kept asking people for craft hats.
And kept whining about not having an unusual.

As i said, as a last resort. If there is honestly no other option.
And by wipe i mean factory settings. You'd lose all your stuff, but you'd atleast have a working laptop.

That's what's called scareware. Generally it doesn't do anything malicious to files aside from block common anti-virus programs. It tries to trick you into think it's a legitimate anti-virus software, and then tells you your computer is infected and you need to pay to have the "infection" removed. If Malwarebytes isn't picking anything up, you should be okay, but to be on the safe side, reboot the computer into Safe Mode and run a full MB scan again to see if it picks anything up.
MB is pretty good when it comes to picking up this stuff. A full wipe of the HDD is generally overkill.

What about my room?
What about my room?
Your room goes without saying, honestly.:v:

Ah I see. I tend to overreact seeing as this isnt my laptop :v:

I don't follow...

malwarebytes is a fucking beast. just configure it to max detection rates, most thorough scan in the options. It eats up quite some ram when it is running a full scan, but i assure you it is literally scanning every damn file in your computer. took 2 hours to fully scan a 200gb C drive and 100gb D drive, and found 2 viruses my AV didn't find. I use it with avira. no problems so far. Avira's database updates everyday too. also use ccleaner if you haven't already. use it disable useless programs that start up when you switch on the computer. ccleaner also clears your crap and get rids of unwanted stuff.
ccleaner + malwarebytes + Avira = good
Anyway, thanks for the help gents. Seems you have a use after all :v:

It's fine, i'd probably end up worrying too.

The other guy who want to buy 1 tag for (his price) 2 reclaimed called me Scammer because I was selling it for 1 ref + 1 reclaimed.
Anyway. This means I have right now 6 keys....ummm 12 weapons for 6 keys... That's a great job!

What's the price on TF2WH of Nametag?
I still have 2 but you cannot afford to buy them (I want a key for both).
two of the most misunderstood words in tf2 has got to be the difference between a person who rip off / happens to succeed in getting a really good deal and a scammer.
