Well, how many decent/good friends do you have. If we make a CEVO team, it's a 6v6 build (2 Solly, 2 Scoot, 1 Demo, 1 Medic), and Highlander is well, Highlander. So yeah. Basically, I call Soldier, and I can very easily get a Scout for us.

Probably either a trumpet, the single best instrument ever invented, or a saxophone. Or both.
Being a hobbyist trumpet player, I must say, TF2 has an absolute kickass soundtrack.

Not many close friends that'd be able to participate. Nobody in real life, and then anyone I know online either is F2P or is premium only because I bought him the Orange Box last week.

I started with one craftable hat, traded it around to better hats, then split into multiple hats, and repeated that process, and then, after buying a few keys with refined, (1:1 mind you, this was prior to the FIRST Xmas Update), got a guy to sell me 2 keys per refined. I thought "Wow! I should unbox with some of this profit!" Burning Handle on the first unbox. Traded that around for other unusuals and vintage hats and earbuds and other sweets on top, and then sold the unusual I had at the time for cash.
tl;dr - It's very possible, it just requires some luck, and some planning/effort.

How did you ensure you were always trading up and making a profit?
