And I'm talking about TF2 here, and rockets shooting from other directions and not the middle being useful. You can destroy, say, a sentry without it hitting you, but with the Original you're pretty much fucked because you have to face it directly.

The bonus the normal rocket launcher gives you is the extra right angle for midairs, allowing you to use it to get a better chance to hit. But the original is straight, which is simpler and also completely symmetrical. It allows you to rocket jump by flicking to the left and be equal as if you were flicking to the right, which can be quite useful (btw, using walls and edges for jumping pushes you further, and sometimes there is only one on the left). The normal rocket launcher is better for jumping off right edges, worse at left.
