Effective idling: If you happen to not have played TF2 in a while and still want items just idle on a Sunday.
I like this new drop system, I get 3 drops a day since this new system was released, before I was lucky to get a single drop per week.
Idling is far from dead. We get even more items, more frequently, just with a cap for the week.
Idling is far from dead. We get even more items, more frequently, just with a cap for the week.
It's dead for me. I play enough normally to hit the weekly cap. No point in idling now.
Hey has the drop cap reset yet? I just woke up.
It will be in 11 hours. Drop are reset in Valve timezone.
It will be in 11 hours. Drop are reset in Valve timezone.
I live in valve time..and technically Sunday is the beginning of the week. That's why I'm confused.
Valve likes to holocaust everyone... run before its too late when the full force hits...
I stopped getting drops four hours ago. So is it pretty safe to say that I hit my weekly limit?
I think it resets on Mondays, since a lot of people think of Monday as the first day of the week. And since they don't work on Sundays, maybe the first thing they do when they go to work will be to press a big red button labeled "reset drop time". This is all just speculations and please don't bash me because I believe that Monday is the first day of the week
I've been getting at least one drop for each play session.
I live in valve time..and technically Sunday is the beginning of the week. That's why I'm confused.
What.
Valve time is Eastern.
no
What I'm going to do next week: Monday to Friday: play 1 hour each day. Saturday: play as much as I can. Sunday: play as much as I can and I'm going to idle after that to make sure that I've hit the weekly cap. [editline]11:34PM[/editline] It's still Sunday here FYI.
It's always a bad idea to run large batch processes on the weekend, when nobody is around if they fail. So I'd expect the reset to be Monday. Another possibility is that it resets on the day the system was rolled out.
Pretty sure I had hit my weekly cap past week (had no drops at all after friday), so yeah. I live in France, so apparently, drop caps are reset according to your time zone?
average timings suggest that drops occur every 45 mins. ON AVERAGE
average timings suggest that drops occur every 45 mins. ON AVERAGE
Well, I was getting drops every 30-70 minutes at peak, so I guess this is about right.
So it reset?
Monday 12pm here and still nothing.
Yes, when is it going to reset.
i've been idling for well over an hour, nothing yet.
How long do we have to play to get a hat and items? Also if we play long enough for a hat we get it no matter what?
Mine still didn't reset. Idling for 4 hours,and nothing. It's 1:25PM here.
hasn't reset for me either
How long do we have to play to get a hat and items? Also if we play long enough for a hat we get it no matter what?
I'm talking with no kind of argument to back up this theory, so don't hold it against me, but with the new system, I would think if they wanted to keep the rarity high, the drop system would say "They are going to get an item at X:XX, are they going to get an item (97%) or a hat(3%)?" then narrow it down from there.
hasn't reset for me either
It will probably reset every Wednesday the day the new system was implemented.
Yeah, been idling all day, no drops. So I guess its every Wednesday
I got 24 drops at once :v:
Well, this probably won't help at all, but I just got my first random drop hat- never got one in the old system. Got the Bonk Helm. It's alright, but I'll stick to Bill's Hat.
