Crit-A-Cola sounds pretty dumb for the scout. The only thing it's useful for is pistol sniping, since all of the scattergun's dmg is ramp up IE: Scattergun base dmg is 60, ramp up max is 105. Mini-crits make it do like 80 assuming all pellets hit.
Minicrits and crits cause it to do max damage anyway so this can only buff your damage
Minicrits for refecting is more than I'd have dared to ask.
flamethrower direct damage reduced 20%. Burn duration reduced (10 -> 6 seconds).
what the fuck man. Seriously the flamethrower does piss all damage close up compared to other weapons anyway, Fucks sake.
FFFFFFF! Parsing game info... damnit, I need a fix.
Its "Heavy Knockback Guy" now
Its "Heavy Knockback Guy" now
but i was the first one to use that term :saddowns:.
Is it confirmed afterburn damage is still the same, just that it deals the damage over 6 seconds instead of 10? Oh, and how's the heavy now?
Yes, it does the same amount of damage in 6 seconds(60 dmg in 6 seconds, before it was 60 dmg in 10 seconds) and I understand why Valve did this, it encourages smart Pyro play instead of W+M1, basically you just light someone on fire and blast him away letting the afterburn buff deal with him, repeat until dead.
I dreamed that I would wake up to a wonderful update from Valve. I came. :3:
What's a Crit-a-Cola?
I like the pyro changes - it encourages combined fire instead of just primary all the time. It's certainly way more useful for airblast kills, I've gotten four already today. Twice off the side of a cliff, once with a rocket and once with a grenade. A lot better than I normally do when trying to airblast.
In my opinion, the Pyro became more fun to use just like the heavy, who doesn't have fun blasting heavy ubers away from the medic :). Besides, if you don't like it just use the Backburner, it remains unchanged as far as I know, this update also makes the Backburner more of a sidegrade and not a downgrade like people used to think.
*dances with the new fancy footed heavy* I can't wait to try this all out.
Can't wait to try the new Heavy and Airblaster once I get home from school.
anyone else getting problems connecting to a server? My game seems to freeze at "sending client info" yet if I bring up the console once or twice I can hear people talking in the game, along with all the sound effects But my screen remains black, although running at a frame rate of 240fps or so; Like I have connected, but its not rendering anything. anyone else getting this issue?

The new map's trains often get in the way when you spawn leaving you stranded at you last point while your team dies. And no, that little platform for you to jump isn't good enough compensation
This is an awesome update.
Those Heavy buffs sure do help a lot.
No tweaks to the huntsman/FaN. Heavies are the new pyros. A few minor tweak/buffs. Woo I wonder if Valve will ever really get any of these right. Heavy was already pretty powerful. They added useless, resource-eating jigglebones to very common items. I'm glad they nerfed the eyelander, but the cuntsman and spam-a-nature work just as fine as ever. :v: At this point, I think I'm just going to hex the hatless halo model to replace all hats. I need to claw back a few resources since there's never been a good optimization update recently. Whereas I use to keep a nice 60-90FPS at 1600x1200, high settings; I now barely scrape a 15-40FPS at 1024x768 with pretty low settings. Durp, haters gonna hate. People who read this took no note that I use to have great framerate when the game first came out. I've locked over a thousand hours in this game, I have a slightly better notion of how things work than people who stick around 24/7 32-man 2fort party servers.
God fucking damnit, the pyro was perfectly fine. Haters gonna hate.
God fucking damnit, the pyro was perfectly fine. Haters gonna hate.
You're doing it yourself.
I'm glad they nerfed the eyelander, but the cuntsman and spam-a-nature work just as fine as ever. :v:
Pffft hahahaha, are you seriously whining about the huntsman? I think you're one of those tards that stand still while shooting. Oh and by the way, they didn't nerf the eyelander, but they buffed the charging targe.
This makes the backburner more valid, as its damage appears to be unaffected by the changes - so you have a choice. More damage but no blast, or blast but less damage. It makes more sense now.
In all honesty I see a great increase in backburner pyros, but with the recent changes, it can perhaps be more justified. I see the backburner becoming a legitimate sidegrade in the coming weeks.
Cool update.
Bonk also saves my ass from the quicker afterburn a lot
Heavy buff? I heavily approve
