hmm i like windows 7 ultimate 64 bit haha.... 32 bit is for low enders
Oh stop crying. Don't start some boycott shit either, I'm tired of you kiddies whining. The only reason Valve has a problem with this is because it TRICKS steam into thinking TF2 is running, which, by definition, is exploitation. Even before the idler, the EULA said that no external programs are allowed to be used to simulate or modify steam/steam game protocols and communications, which is EXACTLY what the idler is doing. You still gain an unfair advantage over other players as well, because not everyone has the idler.
How is it unfair? The items don't really give straight up boosts. It just connects to an idle server and sits there. You gain everything at the same rate as everyone else. Everyone can get the idler. It was fucking free to download and very popular.
They removed items that I earned fairly, from achievements. God damnit. http://www.tf2items.com/profiles/76561197986529486 Fuck you valve.
Oh stop crying. Don't start some boycott shit either, I'm tired of you kiddies whining.
YEAH MAN fucking kiddies, how dare they provide input on a game that they paid for
Exactly. You don't see Valve taking action against the now numerous idle servers. Or spectators.
It's because there you're actually using their game, it states in the EULA that you're forbidden from emulating their network communication protocols which is exactly what the idler does. You're lucky they weren't banning people who used it.
YEAH MAN fucking kiddies, how dare they provide input on a game that they paid for
is this going to end up like the medal argument.
It's because there you're actually using their game, it states in the EULA that you're forbidden from emulating their network communication protocols which is exactly what the idler does. You're lucky they weren't banning people who used it.
And why is that a rule? Clearly the Idler harms no one and does nothing wrong. It's only here to help us and help Valve as stated in the OP.
Eh. Well, I'm gonna play TF2 anyways. I honestly don't see how a hat's gonna change my gaming experience.
hmm i idled and unlocked, and i didnt loose a thing... but my medal went down 5 numbers haha
And why is that a rule?
Because Valve said so
It's because there you're actually using their game, it states in the EULA that you're forbidden from emulating their network communication protocols which is exactly what the idler does. You're lucky they weren't banning people who used it.
it just connects to an idle server. It basically the same besides not running the game client. EULA or not (which I don't read nor give a shit about) it's not like it was some major deadly hack.
Because Valve said so
That's a dumb reason for anything.
Because Valve said so
hurp durp don't care. I'll just refuse valve games kewl wit me (No, I lost nothing and only gained dupes by idling)
You don't actually play Idle servers do you? OP said it used a lot of power, because your computer was running a complicated 3D game for hours at a time. That would mean people would leave it on overnight or while they're out at school, etc. I've never been in one.
I used to use idling servers, even while I was at the computer. A minimized TF2 doesn't bring your computer to a standstill, it's just not good for it. That's like taking candy away from children and letting them use drugs instead because of the consequences to your body.
And why is that a rule? Clearly the Idler harms no one and does nothing wrong. It's only here to help us and help Valve as stated in the OP.
Because it's probably meant to stop more serious offenses, it's just that the idler happens to use those insidious means. [editline]02:10AM[/editline]
hurp durp don't care. I'll just refuse valve games kewl wit me (No, I lost nothing and only gained dupes by idling)
what ever shall they do
That's a dumb reason for anything.
Their game. Their rules.
Because it's probably meant to stop more serious offenses, it's just that the idler happens to use those insidious means. [editline]02:10AM[/editline] what ever shall they do
Nothing, I just don't like people making a big fuss over a little game idler
Sent an email to Robin Walker telling him to return the items I earned. I've had my idler on "delete duplicates", so what the fuuuuuuuuuu
Because it's probably meant to stop more serious offenses, it's just that the idler happens to use those insidious means.
I know that, but the Idler is not a serious offense.
Nothing, I just don't like people making a big fuss over a little game idler
I'll give you three options to which party is creating the most fuss. 1. Valve. 2. Idlers. 3. Non-idlers.
The main reason people use idlers is because they're lazy and impatient. Stop your bitching.
I know that, but the Idler is not a serious offense.
It's circumventing a system Valve put in. It's fooling their system into believing you're playing. It's manipulation.
Sent an email to Robin Walker telling him to return the items I earned. I've had my idler on "delete duplicates", so what the fuuuuuuuuuu
So you were using the Idler for what it was meant for: getting items while you weren't actually playing from a program that's not actually TF2. I hope you don't wonder why you lost them all.
I'll give you three options to which party is creating the most fuss. 1. Valve. 2. Idlers. 3. Non-idlers.
um its more like 1. idlers and us non idlers are making fun of you fags
Random Guy: OH BOY I HAVE A HAT IT'S TIME TO OWN 5 minutes later Random Guy: WTF? I STILL PLAY NORMAL I understand losing your weapons but you're crying over hats.
we should of ATLEAST gotten devil horns.
well, VALVe is being like a fat toddler that dropped his ice cream (Gabe, Age 6). Honestly we need Xplod1 to put up some Gabe comics in here.
The main reason people use idlers is because they're lazy and impatient. Stop your bitching.
I'm lazy and impatient by running it while I sleep? I'm not going to play the game while I'm asleep.
The main reason people use idlers is because they're lazy and impatient. Stop your bitching.
Maybe because I want to do other things than play TF2? If I find that I got a hat through the idler, the first thing I'll want to do is go on TF2 and play with it for hours on end.
