Eh. snip.
I agree. How could I not idle? I mean, a couple Valve employees drove up to my house in a van, broke in, held a knife to my throat, and forced me to use an idling program to illegally get items. It is ALL VALVE'S FAULT.
Oh shut up. Don't be like that. I'm not sure the exact percentage of a hat drop, but I'm sure it's less than 1%. That's like saying people who won the lottery didn't deserve it. They might not have, but at least they tried. Think of the lottery fee as the time spent playing TF2. When you use the idler or idler server it's like stealing money, and being forced to use it on the lottery. Free chances. Extra tickets.
That's not a fair comparison, because using the idler is the equivalent of playing the game. You can idle in the game. You're not paying to play the odds in TF2. People that win the lottery don't deserve anything, it was entirely random, based on chance. They were fortunate enough to get something out of it. Murderers and rapists could win the lottery. Chance isn't based on who deserves anything.

Standing in a spawn doing nothing is stealing money? Leaving TF2 on overnight is stealing money? The idler does nothing different. It's not cheating.

People with the Halos are acting like Elitists now. Then I show up with Tier 3 hats for every class and they become Disappoint.
Maybe because they didn't foresee someone going to the trouble of making a tunneling program, FOR HATS. Because hats are meant to be rare. It very clearly didn't if 4.5% of people used it, and the rest, didn't. because they thought it would be fun. It's not horrible.
If half of those things you said were correct, I will change my name to Henry the Bear, okay?
They're removing items that were gained by idling? OH SHIT. Well, there goes about half of my items. :saddowns:
I can imagine Robin Walker's expression looking at the community in the past hour or so. I expect it would be something along the lines of

They could have put a stop to the unlocker a long time ago. No matter how long it would take to prevent the idle program from working, they could have posted something on their blog as soon as they were aware stating that "You're not supposed to do this, don't do this, you will be punished if you keep doing this."

All they took was my crappy duplicates, which was the only thing I got from the idler. Even though this whole thing is bullshit, I don't really care.
You're violating the EULA.
Nobody cares about or abides by EULAs fully anymore anyway. They kind of have no effect on anything anymore. They just aren't threatening enough.
You're violating the EULA.
Refer me to the infringement.
Nobody cares about or abides by EULAs fully anymore anyway. They kind of have no effect on anything anymore. They just aren't threatening enough.
Well they seemingly do on this. And it's an agreement, serious business.
They're removing items that were gained by idling? OH SHIT. Well, there goes about half of my items. :saddowns:
Just checked up on my items. The removed pretty much everything I earned THROUGH ACTUAL ACHIEVEMENTS. But left all the Kritzkreigs I got from idling. Fuck you too, Valve.
Then playing in spectator is also stealing money? Standing in a spawn doing nothing is stealing money? Leaving TF2 on overnight is stealing money? I emailed Valve and maybe I will get a response to a quickly written email.
