they do have a walking animation, but I recorded it in the single hour I had available between university. Didn't feel like fixing the bug causing them to moonwalk

This is either directly lifted or they chose to perfectly remake the model. If it was remade and they kept the Alice style, that's just stupid.

You people should know, Nightmare Fortress 2 creatures like these remind me of a Swedish radio drama I'd heard at my 2nd Kinder Garden. It was called [B]När månen går med långa ben (ENGLISH: When the Moon walks on long legs)[/B], directed and created by Markatta. In this play, stuff like monsters, ghosts, ghasts and gaffles (or forks, what kind of monster is a "gaffle" anyway?), braxes, himules and terrible creatures without heads and/or with 5 legs are mentioned. According to the story, the Pale Count (Bleke Greven) is headless, but he carries his head under his arm like a basketball, he even screwed his own head off.
The girls, who were also the protagonists of the play are Emilia, Märta and Berta. They said that a long, long time ago people believed monsters like those existed. These creatures never showed themselves during daytime, but, they [I]do[/I] wake up and get out of their hiding spots at night during full moon (Wow, was Zelda: Ocarina of Time's Hyrule Field during nighttime as Young Link inspired by this? Nintendo is amazing, even if they stole a lot of stuff from the real world and put them into EarthBound/MOTHER 2)
This drama is, apparently, available on Spotify as well as on regular CDs
