• Some ideas on upgrades using the Welding Tool

That Welding Tool looks awfully detailed for a video prop, eh? So people have got around to thinking it's an unlockable. I'm pretty convinced myself. A theory on what it would do is based on the propane canister on the table, and this theory states that Engineer is working on the Flamethrower to upgrade it. So, it's possible that the Welding Tool is for upgrading weapons. These are my ideas for upgrades on some of the weapons (I can't think of upgrades for every last weapon). Rocket Launcher: Increased blast radius Rocket payload increased to 5 Faster fire rate Backburner: Faster fire rate Flames go a little further Fuel limit increased to 350 Flamethrower: Increased damage Fuel cost for Compression Blast decreased to 10 Fuel limit increased to 350 Increased crit rate Minigun: Increased damage Faster fire rate Ammo supply increased to 300 That's about it. Go ahead and post your ideas, they will be added below the line ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ (User was banned for this post ("rules" - Jimbomcb))
Probably not..
This would horribly break the balance of TF2. At best, it'll just allow the Engineer to slowly refill the ammo of some weapons (like a mobile dispenser)
fire sentry
Incendiary Ammunition upgrade.

Engies Hammer > Welding Tool
If they include a weapon that buffs other people's weapon then why is it the Engie update?
Horrible idea. It will break the flow of TF2 gameplay with people bitching that engies aren't upgrading, too many engies, engies not upgrading fast enough, engies wasting metal on sentry gun and so forth.
This is such a counter-intuitive idea, I'm surprised that it gets mentioned so frequently.
This would make Pyro Ultra-easy mode.

lmao, add ideas below the line xD
This idea is terrible /thread
I think if the torch is going to be a weapon, it'll allow for faster/constant repairing with a slower upgrade.
The only thing I can see how this would work would be to increase maximum ammo capacity for heavy and pyro, increased amount of pipe bombs the demo could fire, and that's pretty much it for modifying character weapons, so it isn't a very feasible unlock. I find a hard replacement for the wrench, that wouldn't break the balance of the game, maybe a constant upgrade/repair? And not just a 4+ health or 25+ build per hit.

The pyro is actually a cyborg, the engineer built him, he's been upgrading him bit by bit for a while now. Think about it. He's not just working on any weapon, the weapon on the table belongs to the pyro. Doesn't prove anything you say? The engineer only has one glove, where is the other? Oh yeah, it's a hat unlock for the pyro. Multiple domination lines from all characters refer to the pyro as an abomination, possibly some form of robotic uncanny valley shit? In the background is a robotic arm, so clearly the engy has been working on something robotic/synthetic.
So I guess the pdq has a higher possibility of being scrapped according to everyone
people really don't care about any of that shit as long as the engineer can help the team. if a temporary buff tool can do that then why not?
The reason the repair node wasn't put in is that it sacrificed another building, which hindered the team too much. Imagine if the engie can only be busy with an important sentry whilst the team complains he's not upgrading their weapons? It puts unnecessary pressure and constraint on the engineer forcing him to do work that he may not want or has to do.

You know how good trolls they are.
People have been suggesting that the robotic arm in the background is a reference to a possible official release of the TF2 Bots.
