If Valve finds out you are fucked. At least your account is. It doesn't really bother me but you are playing with fire.
The money for hats thing isnt cool, at all.
Those people may be idiots, but the scams need to just stop.

Generally I can stomp most players in DotA. But DotA killed Warcraft III, and it's really not very fun.
Should of had the payment sent as a gift payment so no charge backs could be done. You run a huge risk of a charge back, especially since it is a digital product.
I don't see how this is a scam.
I don't think it's really the scammer's fault, it's mostly the person who was dumb enough to get scammed.

I said it on the update news post and i'll say it again.
Come hither the days of sketchy 'BUY HATS 4 HAF PRWICE!!@$!2412!!' sites, people getting scammed, and Valve eventually getting fed up and banning all the sellers and scraping the mann-conomy.
Scamming people out of their money for hats = Permanent Steam account deletion.
Isn't this what Valve just said NOT to do if you wish to keep your Steam account and all your games?
All the people you sold your hats to can view your profile and report your for scamming- you'd lose your account and etc.
