It happens when I build another sentry as well. I think that "map" is a placeholder string that is called when there's nothing else to say.
Even if it was not a certain clue, I am still extremely interested in the new engineer update, considering him being one of my favorite classes. I would be quite happy in seeing his offensive capabilities improved.

And btw, in French "Carte" stand for a standard map, or for this : [img_thumb]http://www.rdm-team.com/public/JEREMY/jeu_de_cartes.jpg[/img_thumb] Voilà, it was the informative time. :eng101:
spy is getting a deck of cards :buddy:
In Russian, the word "Carta" also means map, which most likely originated from that French word.
In spanish another word for map is Carta which means Card.
New theory: Every single one of these bugs have been a master plot by VALVe's top trollers.

I mean.. when it actually refers to a game level? If it says something else than map or carte, then ya.. we've got something here. It could be possible that it's a map displaying all enemy/friendly positions, so the engineer can have an idea of what's incoming to his sentry nest.
This must be in tf_english.txt, right? Someone grab an old version and check if it was there before.
Instead of using a sapper to destroy maps, the Spy has to use his new weapon: Cup of Coffee.
-snip wrong thread-
Maybe it will be buildable, like some board that shows whole map and location of red and blu members, something like in 2fort intel room, but portable.

How did the word Map even appear there? So odd.
Why am I being rated Late? I was the first one to discover and make a thread about this goddamnit.
Don't complain. You'll just get more. But tell me how it'd manage to even be there. Dispenser =/= Map.
So it could either be for sentry or dispenser, has anyone checked teleporters?
If you give an item in invalid quality the prefix is "Map". It's just a default string if there is no given string.

This happened to me once before this update. I doubt its anything meaningful.
On my teleporter it says: map map built by
In spanish another word for map is Carta which means Card.
In English the word for the study and creation of maps is cartography I don't think it's related to the game, it just shows how the languages are related. But if I can come up with a conspiracy theory: The dispenser is called a MAP MAPs are created through CARTography Therefore the new engie unlock is a derailed payload cart!

"Oh Man! This is just like Counter-Strike"
A map inside a big map means that you have to go in to get more CP.
I could see a Far Cry 2 styled map with enemies on it working out pretty well.
I bet this is a hidden thing that Gabe put in like they did with Portal.
This must be done on purpose, together with the "accidental-looking" building glitch.
