can i? can i please?
go for it , nugget!
Last update before I leave for work, will probably add a strap or something later. I got the idea of a piano misc from an episode of aqua teen hunger force that got recorded on my dvr last night. The E-ano
Have you ever seen piano keys?
Assuming it lands on that side, yes it does. Altho it's a problem with the way the texture is applyed to the model. Y'ah know?
If you're repeating the texture on both sides, I'd honestly drop the text. Go for a skull or something, or a lightning bolt. Maybe even the tally is enough. The reversed text really is a bad feature. It's also really nice to see this improving and you working well with these suggestions, well done!
Have you ever seen piano keys?
I originally had them modeled, but people kept saying it was a waste of polys
Add them back for the highest poly version and take the black keys off for the LODs
I originally had them modeled, but people kept saying it was a waste of polys
You don't have to model every individual white key - you can do the gaps between with the texture (maybe a normal map), but you can model the black keys at least somewhat like they are on a real piano!
I originally had them modeled, but people kept saying it was a waste of polys
You're wasting polys by separating them while there is no space between real piano keys. You can just texture lines between them. The black keys should also be larger and in alternating groups of 2 and 3

Thanks everyone It's comming along better then i could have pictured. Altho i'm a little shaky about how i handled the barrel. I feel it might be a little too much. But what do you think? And i also did a non rust version.
I dont like those chalk notches. it's over done It seems like every TF2 item these days has 1. batteries and wires strapped to it 2. covered in blood 3. notches carved in or with chalk 4. tapped up stock 5. rusty why cant you just leave it as is?

They're carvings. And the reason i can't is because the gun always felt like it needed a "Extra something" Why not ask other skinners "why cant you just leave X ITEM HERE it as is?"
Once again, the tallies are WAY too brightly colored and don't blend well with the wood and metal. The whole thing is too noisy. There are too many small details like scratches. Team Fortress 2 is more large patches of solid color with slight color variation by means of brush strokes. Small details are no no. Scratches are ok but what you have is excessive. I again advise you to look more closely at in-game textures.
The thing is, Gabriel, is you are trying to take a weapon and personalize its texture far beyond any of what anyone here likes to see. You're overdoing the entire thing, in my opinion, but that shouldn't stop you from continuing / releasing it as a mod, just recognize that you are going to hit "this is too much" comments at every turn. You don't need to post every tweak for simple texture edits regardless of how significant the item is.
Try something more like this quick paint over.
Honestly, man, if you could get it to look like this, it would be perfect. I would vote for it in an instant and so would a lot of people. this has a chance of getting in the game. You're getting there, but what you've got still doesn't fit, its still too fallout. Give it a try, man. Note that the variation from light to dark patches in this preview, are pretty big for TF2. This is made to 'work' because of the blurred edges of the patches. The tally marks have been worn away, and look just visible enough. The scratch lines are still there in some places, but they have been blured a bit, and are greatly toned down, and it makes it work really well.

I'll keep going with it.
It's a reskin of the Brawler's Blaster.
It's true. I don't want it in the game. I just want people to enjoy a texture. 'tis all~
Neo, Ive discovered that your soldier cape doesn't look half bad on the demo man, you could probably tweak it a bit and make textures for the different boots, and a sober stuntman inspired one for the kicks
Oh. Well now I feel completely stupid. Do whatever you want then, why did anyone bother in the first place.
Oh. Well now I feel completely stupid. Do whatever you want then, why did anyone bother in the first place.
because he's been constantly posting about it, that's why.
The Murderous Mask, why wasn't it ever submitted to the workshop? In fact, why weren't many of these items submitted to the workshop? It was only a couple months before the Workshop was created. I liked a lot of items from that update, but it doesn't seem like many were submitted to the workshop, and I don't like seeing good items going to waste.
It was like three months that it was released and I thought a lot of those were made far in advance because the website took forever or something

Oh and you can paint bumps on your model too and save it as a normal map :D
Also Mudbox is an Autodesk (they make 3DS Max) program that lets you paint textures on models.

I still wonder why they haven't submitted the Krankensage or the Patriot from the Fancy vs. Nasty Update.

Completed the port of my tourist pack from Pyro to Engi. The port includes improved textures, shading, and rigging. The entire updated set is now available for download and is up on the Workshop. On to bigger and better things. I don't care what none of y'all say, I love my brass texture.
