;34850526']Not sure if your talking about the same thing but I've always wanted to see someone make one of these creepy WW1 gas masks they remind me of penguins...
Nope, didn't even know those existed. I'm blissfully ignorant about war equipment in general. I just know there were a bunch of baggy canvas gas mask around in WW1, and those looked pretty creepy. Still an amazing model. [editline]24th February 2012[/editline]
I think it needs transparent square patterns all over it
Stop being an asshole.

[editline]24th February 2012[/editline]
It was originally for medic/demo/heavy. The demo version will have a cracked lense. The UV of the left eye there is already at a different space of the texture.
cracked lens would be good

Or wrong. Probably both.
cracked lens would be good
Am I the only one who thinks cracked lenses on the right eye of Demo items is overdone? I mean, it was a good idea for the Scotch Bonnet, and it was pretty cool for the Deus Specs too, at first, but now it just seems shoehorned into every Demo item with goggles or glasses.
Give the poor horse a rest and stop beating it.
I can't even think of more than three items that do that, in game and community
I can't even think of more than three items that do that, in game and community
Scotch Bonnet, Deus Specs, Scottish Snarl (OK, so it's not actually a cracked lense, but it's the same idea) and this.
Minor clipping with the Deus Specs!
Scotch Bonnet, Deus Specs, Scottish Snarl (OK, so it's not actually a cracked lense, but it's the same idea) and this.
I don't think snarl counts and I wasn't including this in the count. The third I had was the chemist's protection, which is the only mod I can remember offhand.

I say turn this into its own item. Happy pyro.
You forget the most important part of all: There was never any point in using that horrible idea.
But it's not horrible.
Scotch Bonnet was good - it was a unique and clever idea. Scottish Snarl looks good and would work even if he didn't have that eye missing - it just works. Deus Specs just looks like bad clipping, and the idea is slowly being overdone. The more you do it, the more it'll happen until we actually have loads of items with a cracked eye-cover of some sort.
I don't think snarl counts and I wasn't including this in the count. The third I had was the chemist's protection, which is the only mod I can remember offhand.
The Snarl's scratched eye is the same idea as a cracked lense: something covering the Demo's left eye being damaged to reflect his missing left eye. So, if we were to exclude Ronin's item in this count, there would still be over 3.
The Snarl's scratched eye is the same idea as a cracked lense: something covering the Demo's left eye being damaged to reflect his missing left eye. So, if we were to exclude Ronin's item in this count, there would still be over 3.
a) no, not the same thing for various reasons that I could explain but you'd disagree with anyway b) 3 in game 1 mod isn't that much worse, especially when you said
Am I the only one who thinks cracked lenses on the right eye of Demo items is overdone? I mean, it was a good idea for the Scotch Bonnet, and it was pretty cool for the Deus Specs too, at first, but now it just seems shoehorned into every Demo item with goggles or glasses.
so since those original two, one/two more have been made, soon to be two/three. so two/three is "every Demo item with goggles or glasses."? Not really.
After about 3 hours of drama-free work, remade our stahlhelm with goggles. Comments and crits are welcome. YES they are welcome. No bunnies will be offended.
All aboard the honesty train! It doesn't fit the Demoman. He's not one to go into combat with a fancy helmet, let alone a German helmet. And those goggles don't fit him either, again they seem too... German. They would fit either the Medic or maybe the Engineer - and yes, I know the Engineer isn't German, dongbrains. Why do I say they would fit the Engineer? They look like goggles that would be worn to magnify your view while constructing something tiny. But do they fit the Demoman? No, I'm afraid they don't. What are either of those item's practicality on the Demoman? You have a German soldier helmet, a pair of a precision technician's goggles, and a black, scottish cyclops. They don't work together, sorry. The honesty train is now departing. Chugga chugga chugga woo woo.
a) no, not the same thing for various reasons that I could explain but you'd disagree with anyway b) 3 in game 1 mod isn't that much worse
How is it not the same thing. Explain to me how it is not the same thing. They are all items with something damaged covering the Demoman's left eye to reflect that his left eye is missing, whether it be a cracked lense, or a scratched eye. At any rate, the idea is still overused, shoehorned into way too many items, and in general just boring. The Demoman's missing eye should not define any of his hats unless they were made with the express purpose of referencing his missing eye.
a pair of a precision technician's goggles

One crossed wire, one wayward pinch of potassium chlorate, one errant twitch... and KABLOOIE!
I think precision goggles would be pretty handy
