Have to ask though, how did you rig up those shoulder pads? I was trying to do similar a while back and just never quite got it working. They'd always end up floating all over the place on different animations.

Never. Ever. Rig anything to the sdk models unless it's a simple hat to the bip_head bone.
Decompile a playermodel and rig on to that.

Looks more like a reference pose, which is commonly referred to as a T-pose, Jesus pose, or most frequently: Civilian pose.
