that's not what I was responding to though
Yeap, sorry. But in that way they solve reload animations, the ammo being wasted animation, the magically spawning ammo when picking up ammo boxes, and that stuff. A better solution that the endless ammo belt of the Counter Strike machine gun. The could upload that one to be like the DoD one. Practical solution and not that crazy
Hey. These exist.
What programs do you guys use to make these custom models?
I use Voidworld for modeling and Blender for the rest. Voidworld is a beta program in development and tends to crash a lot, but I like it.
Show me the spining barrel on those
Sorry. I stumbled across those while looking up oddities in firearms development and decided to post them to help lend inspiration to people. I wasn't responding to you.

You're taking inspiration from Tintin now? That's.. Well, considering how well known the comic is, I guess it's not actually that classy, but the concepts of drawing inspiration from French retro comic books feels as though it's pretty classy. There's a really obscure French comic book trilogy called 'Gaspard de la Nuit', which is drawn in an absolutely brilliant style. I don't have any requests or suggestions, but I'll just drop this picture here and let the culturedness seep in through your foreheads.

If we're going with old French comics for ideas now, we totally need some Asterix et Obelix items for Scout and Heavy

It looks untextured.
It looks untextured.
I just made boring lines to show it's a grass skirt.

I'd say it was a pointer to other stuff to research. As the comic artists did their homework too. And btw, I've recognised your avatar already from that comic, and it isn't french, it's from Belgium, the same country where Tintin is from. That style is typical medieval flemmish-belgian, like Breughel, with some influences of James Ensor (the masks). Fun fact: the comic was drawn by Johan De Moor, son of Bob De Moor who was an assistant of Hergé. Look up to "La Vache", I like how his style has become more personal, free and matured.

Spy Pack. (loosely based on 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy'.)

2 things, is it a gun or a camera, if gun, good job, if camera, then that's bad. 2nd, fix the smoothing.

They are way too detailed/noisy/vibrant and it's hard to tell where the item ends and the background begins. I would make the backgrounds much much darker so the item stands out more and people can actually know what it is they're looking at. I also think that while the models are wonderful, the textures are holding the quality of the items down. In particular, the black and gold color scheme does not look like it fits within the TF2 style at all. I would suggest trying the Phlogistinator color scheme of brown/grey/copper for a more steampunkish appearance. Just my two cents.

I got those comic books from my brother, I have no idea where he got them. I've tried to look up info regarding the comic and its creators on the internet, and found next to nothing. Where the hell did you learn all this, and from where do you know the comic? I think my mistake in calling the comic French can be attributed to the lack of available information, but I really don't have any excuse for making the same mistake about Hergé. I mean, I recognize that he's Belgian now that you say it, but I've always thought of him as French for some reason. Welp, I guess I just lost a bunch of hipster cred, and you gained it. By the way, do you know anything about the fourth GDLN book? I know it exists, but that's about it.
