Yeah it would have been weird but my point still stands about both your items and non-promo reskins in general. There just shouldn't be non-promotional reskins, it's not fair to the people that made the original item and it's not fair to the people who made the new item.
It's strange. I like the Bootlegger but I don't think I'll ever be equipping the Scottish Handshake.

Same here. Either you're using your explosives and have the bottle because it doesn't have any distracting effects or you're playing Demoknight and you're using something more useful. Your weapon got pushed in to being a cosmetic skin for a weapon that you only have equipped if you're not going to be using that slot.
And that's terrible.

That's because they're doing a new way of giving out selfmade items using the Steam workshop. I expect to have them by tomorrow night, if I understand what's going on. Personally if I'm demoman I equip the Ullapool Caber btw

Because.
When you change your computer's date to the 21st, TF2's UI changes to halloweeny stuff. Halloween 2010, and it doesn't fit with the UI.
At the most we'll DEFINITELY get an update at some point tomorrow, atleast to fix it.

On another note, I don't want another Christmas update taking into consideration last year's one...
Maybe the 21st update will be to enable all the hallowen stuff (like being able to use the paperbags and the horsemann head) and the hallowen update will be next week

And low and behold here we are 2 years later and you rarely every see the Gibus and pretty much never see the Halo.

For the HUGE influx of new players, this is their first Halloween. This means they have all 3 years of events to do.
Last year's events take FOREVER to do, since you have to do that tedious treasure hunt and hope you get the right bag you need.
I believe they plan on allowing for an extra week to get the new players to participate and not feel rushed. Even if they don't add new content until next week, this week may be added to the holiday to allow new players to collect the achievements and items over the last two years
