We were talking about how christmas themed weapons would or wouldn't fit all year round.

It's not speculation, they aren't going to be holiday restricted [i]because[/i] they're community-contributed. Unless the TF team decides to pull a few reskins out of nowhere, [i]everything[/i] will be unrestricted.
Since Valve gave a contribution shoutout, most of the Christmas Items will most likely be community contributions and thus, not Holiday restricted. Valve is not stupid. They know that you can only screw people over once, and there is christmas every year. Also, the Tree is as far as I know a contribution and money was paid for it, so bitching about it is useless.
Also, Ghosts are not Halloween themed, Halloween is ghost themed. While the Monster Hunter is intendendly cheezy, overdone with all the blood and stuff and made for Halloween.
I know, but it doesn't change that it's most likely gonna be terribly unfitting.

Scarabix, seriously, I don't know how to tell you this, but maybe you should look for Vanilla game servers or leave TF2. It isn't the game we used to know, and it will always change. You hate seeing stuff you don't want to see, well then TF2 is the wrong game for you with all the custom stuff. I barely ever say something is unfitting. I only had this issue with holiday items so far. These are the only ones that I don't find fitting at hole, and I'm not rejoicing that there will be yet another series of holiday items.

I expected that Valve would make sure all community items had a baseline playing field of all being droppable and craftable on top of being buyable. Right now the Dr Woah has an unfair competitive advantage over every other community item.
