probably his new model he made so he can actually make some money from the hat.
I hope the fedora reskin version is a style though, his updated version was pretty different than the current hat, so I could see some people wanting a style for it (and it's probably not too hard to implement).
Although styles are handled by the schema also... so I guess probably no style.

If you look at urls in the item schema, you can plainly see that the updated backpack item correlates to the one he submitted. It's not hard to remove escape characters from a string.
