But that costs money (or if you happen to find some paint or tag, a ton of luck), and there are quite a few people out there who are reluctant to by things from the store.
Certainly a hat or weapon, that you've spent that much time on, you not going to give up easily, but after a month or so, new hats come out and there old ones loose the luster that they once had. Of course if your one who cherishes EVERYTHING that you get (such as I do), than you'll try and stick with what you have, but I see many players who choose to stick with what's new or trendy.
These restricted items don't loose that new luster, because you can't wear them out. And I see loads of people switch on their Halloween gear whenever they get the chance. I think they are more appreciable that way.
Besides a couple of days every month isn't ALL that bad.
