I really want the badges to be fairly rare, but at the same time obtainable so they are not overpriced. If they were like the service medals that would be horrible.

On the contrary, you're not "speculating" about anything, you're simply posting what images you're going to use for a badge that's rumored to be in a future update. There's legitimate discussion about an upcoming feature in the game and then there's mindless drivel that nobody cares about. It's like making a thread about what color people are going to paint their hats or what name they're going to give to one of their items.

On the contrary, I think they were just having a little bit of fun. It's surprising you don't understand this since you're used to the bandwagon as I can tell. The rumored update has been discussed about as far as it can, so what's wrong with posting some badge ideas people have?

Back on topic-- is there ANY real hard evidence that still points for an update or the beginning of an update this week? I still feel it's 1-2 weeks out.

I'm guessing another little tidbit is that this is the last week of September, and unless this is for the Halloween update (doubt it), it'd mean the update would have to come out in October, which is pretty absurd to have 2 major updates in the same month.

Keys were added in the MannConomy update.
Perhaps Anniversary Keys, using the Winter Keys as a placeholder?

It's a year since the ManCo store was released this week. Valve usually does some sort of update to celebrate that sort of thing.

I'd say keep your hopes up for today, and if nothing comes, be a little less anticipatory for tomorrow. If nothing comes after that, consider the idea of it coming very soon dead and then just wait until it's released.
