Guys. Here's the deal- do not expect an update until the Halloween one, on the last Thursday of October. We don't know when it's coming and can't keep freaking out every time the item servers or whatever go down. But we do know a Halloween Update is coming. This way you'll be all the more surprised when the update actually does. :D

I'm very glad you have seen the light, and I really don't think there's gonna be two major updates within the same month.
I think there will be. Halloween usually isn't a huge major 25+ weapon update anyway. Last year we got 2 community made maps, a weapon reskin and a bunch of maps, plus a boss mode. In the scope of things, that's not as big as something like the Uber update.

Like "unusual" weapons, a boss, limited time hats, etc. Seeing as it went off with a giant bang, they may make this Halloween even bigger as they know it worked magnificently.

I don't know what the big deal is with clipping, some people get really rubbed up the wrong way about it. Yeah it would make sense if TF2 was completely virgin to clipping. But come on, there is clipping everywhere anyway, what difference does it really make. We all understand the physics of clipping as a concept, every game has it and people should accept it as a unavoidable result of having 3D in games.

Haha, fair enough! I'm not defending myself, just clipping in general. I mean, come on, take a look at my widowmaker. I attempted to avoid clipping in general, but most of us are not responsible because we are all under the mercy of Valve's implementation. ;)

AUTHENTIQUE = GENUINE RÉTRO = VINTAGE Up until the deus ex update the translation for french items was horrible (the th'axtinguisher, the(feminine) the (masculine) bronze beast, for some reason the crusader's crossbow was well translated but the amputator wasn't), surprisingly some of the items have completely different names than in english like the "fez et gestes"(familiar fez) which is a really nice pun actually! anyways back to the subject: there's so much that could've been changed in the image: Firefox does some colour correction when you upload things, internet explorer and safari darken images and he might have his "colour correction" off for tf2. EDIT also I just made a gif of it [img]http://filesmelt.com/dl/frenchitems.gif[/img] nothing special.

Meanwhile the Loch n Load is only a few months short of a full year of being broken under its belt.

Well I was commissioned to make the DX Widowmaker shotgun, pistol grip, straight stock, and all! What are my options? It would have looked like butt if I gave it a slanted grip, not to mention my boss would have been mad if I had changed the design :S Lets take a look, [img]http://img594.imageshack.us/img594/4756/wdwmkreg.png[/img] Tell me how I could have executed the DX Widowmaker design WITHOUT it clipping like a beast with the standard shotgun holding animations. That's why I had no doubt in my mind that Valve would have done a new holding animation.
I've never worked in the industry, but you could not have alerted your boss of this potential issue? Not whining, just a bit of curiosity.

Besides, I was so SURE that Valve would have done a new holding animation. I'm getting better at working with clients in this context, same as with freelancing, usually the case is that they are working in a zero-creative field, call all the shots and don't have any working knowledge of art, modelling, optimisation or the consequences of modding like we do. On top of that, I find it even harder that the conversing etiquette with them is completely informal. I'm there trying to be polite and professional and then they just tell you something like "I just want it to look fucking badass man, it's going to look sweeeeeeet" It's not an easy job. -_-

The Noh Mercy actually has less clipping as a hat (with the beard and phantom) than the hat. I'm not so much mad at Valve making it a misc, so much as I completely miss the point. What sort of style can be achieved with the Noh mercy when half of the item has so many obvious clipping problems with hats, but barely any with other face misc items. At this point it's just a wasted slot since you can only wear 2 misc items at a time, and you probably won't wear a hat with it, so it leaves you with only 2 cosmetics instead of three if it were a hat. Instead of making it a misc, they should have just made it a face or whole head item, which would have fixed the minor clipping with face misc items. It's absolutely not your fault that the hat has so many clipping problems with other hats. You never designed it with the intent of it being a misc item.
