How does this guy keep getting back in here?
What I want to know is why he think that a picture of a fat Mexican 10-year-old would make me want to join whatever it is he's advertising.
Oh god another one. well can't wait for tomorrow's speculation.
Tonight wasn't the night. And tomorrow it won't be, either, because the new Portal 2 DLC gets released tomorrow.

I don't usually like fueling speculation, but... Sixense uploaded a video showcasing Razer Hydra integration with TF2 a week ago. You can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCKdjcxX2Aw But then they went and reuploaded the video again just a few hours ago here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ca5E67vW4nw The difference: They removed the "COMING SOON!" from the description. This implies that it will be out very soon, which means a TF2 update. OH GOD OH MAN
I wish, but Nzdjh is the one that submitted the item. I did email Valve over whether or not I'd at least get self made versions of the items when they got it, on top of Nzdjh getting his own selfmade versions of the items & the profits. (Though the way I worded it, they probably haven't responded to it yet because it would be a spoiler that it did get in just from the reply.)
I did mention you when I submitted the items in my Contribution notes but knowing Valve they'll probably forget. Hopefully if the items do get in the game (which is completely up in the air at the moment), they'll give you self-made versions as well. If they don't, I'll be sure to contact them and make sure they give them to you. And for the record, no I haven't gotten any emails. But the past couple of times I've gotten stuff in the game, I didn't get the email until well after the items were actually added (like, a few weeks after). So honestly waiting for the emails isn't a reliable way to predict an update because apparently Valve time even applies to their emails and most contributors probably won't even get them until after the update hits.

This implies that it will be out very soon, which means a TF2 update. OH GOD OH MAN
I have said this many times before, and I will say it again: the Hydra is looking to be pretty amazing. From the tutorials I've seen, it appears to function EXACTLY the same as how the Nintendo Wii Remote works. People say that keyboard+mouse format is pretty much the best format for FPS games, and they're pretty much right. But motion controls comes pretty damn close, if not better. From my experience with the Wii Remote on games such as Metroid Prime 3 (or Prime Trilogy), the controls are pinpoint accurate and waaaay easier to aim and navigate than trying to run around and aim with a dual-joystick controller. If you want, you can compare the responsiveness of the aiming controls with this video from Metroid Prime 3 to the video Shugo linked. [editline]October 4th, 2011[/editline] MEANWHILE. As for speculation if the change on the Hydra video means the update is coming soon....I highly doubt it. If they removed the COMING SOON label, wouldn't that imply it is no longer coming soon? I would take it as meaning the update is farther away than initialized.
they changed the old code. and replaced it with [sp]the exact same code.[/sp]
i think they made it not play the F2P announcement video when you go to the website
woah woah, that video featured new view model arms and the ability to move the gun with the screen like in other Source games. If that's coming to TF2 even for people without a Hydra, that would be awesome.
http://www.sixense.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=4032&f=16#p4032 No ratcheting necessary with integration as someone previously noted. We're releasing it to you all in beta first so, VERY soon :). Hang in there. If you want to be ready to go ahead of time go ahead and download "Team Fortress 2 Beta". If you own TF2 on Steam you'll see this on your library list.
if you're seriously able to move your view model around like that it would require a few select weapons to get updated arm models. Like the Minigun. In that video the Tomislav had okay arms when pointing at extreme angles, while in the real game those are not even really there.
I hope we can use the "floating crosshair" with mouse too and without having to buy some goddamn accesory.
Agree times a million
well, Valve has always supported different controllers, and the Hydra has some advantages over the mouse, but it has some disadvantages (jumping seems really annoying and jump crouching seems almost impossible)
jumping seems really annoying and jump crouching seems almost impossible
If you can customize the controls (I really hope you can do that) and bind "Jump" and/or "Crouch" to a button it won't be a big problem
hopefully, then you can just change it to Metroid Prime style (which I feel is perfect) controls and go on your way. I'm more interested now to see if they fix some of the view model errors that would ruin the revelation of this feature. Like Spy not reloading with his arm.
Okay so tonight's the night ? :v:
They are just now testing a major feature, so propably not.
okay.jpg
Okay so tonight's the night ? :v:
Tonight is always the night
I'm wondering if the Hydra thing is what Valve is waiting on. That would be something out of their control that would require a delay if it wasn't done. And it's certainly a large enough change that it would be a neat thing to advertise and bundle with a major update.
Clearly the TF2 boss is a Hydra from Half-Life 2 Beta.
I'm thinking the new items are going to be part of the halloween update. So we might be looking at the end of october? Yes i know, late.
[del]The viewmodels with the RazerHydra is way to jittery for me to ever concider using, sadly. It looks interesting, but holy shit my OCD...[/del] [sub][sub]Edited:[/sub][/sub] Wait, what the fuck am I saying... :v: Disregard my previous statement.
I'm not sure about the hydra, the cameras turning speed seems really slow; so it might be hard to turn around fast enough if someone attacks you from behind.
No, it's the Hydra from Hercules.
Imagine all the lag and FPS dropping with that.
Tonight is never the night
Fixed.
tnoghts the mother freaking night
