The Chieftain fits Soldier's obsession with War, and unlike the other hats with this theme, it also fits his American background and patriotism. It fits a lot better than Kabuto or Tyrants. The Pyro's beanie fits because of the propeller beanie's background and stereotype as a thing worn by mischievous children (like firestarters) and socially awkward nerds. The Whoopee cap fits because at the time when it was popular, it was a status symbol among kids. It was around before the 50's 60's, and it's not a crown like most people think. I wish you would have mentioned more hats though... Like how the Tosslecap didn't become a popular thing until somewhere around the 80's and 90's, how the vibrant color the Master's Yellow headband sticks out like a sore thumb, how the Brainslug also doesn't use the teamcolors, and how the fuckugly Gatsby is supposed to make sense on Medic is a mystery yet to be solved.
