Didn't mean to call the Homewrecker crap, it's just you know... it sucks in combat, you rarely get kills with it so the Strange version of it would be quite useless.

Rarely gets kills....
You probably never saw me play as a HW Pyro.

It's a teamwork oriented weapon, therefore, it's shit.
Everything in the game needs to be KILL-KILL-KILL, MAXIMUM DAMAGE OUTPUT, RAHHHH!
but the homewrecker is credit to team :c
They could also cause the Strange Homewrecker to track sappers destroyed like how a few other Stranges track multiple stats without Strange Parts IIRC. That would reduce the "crappy" nature of the Homewrecker.
Why is everyone taking my comment of the Homewrecker being a bad strange so far. D:
I like using it, in fact I enjoy being a Pybro with my fellow Engy buddies.
They mistook your thought that the Homewrecker was a redundant strange as an insult against the weapon itself.

Puff and Sting with it.
Trust me, you will never say "It rarely gets kills" again.

Actually I kinda wanted it to track kills, and than make it so if you attach buildings destroyed strange part to it, it'll become a great strange, making more use of Strange parts.
Homewrecker is such a bitchslap for spies, pybro style is quite fun to play.
A happy fellow engi means a good defense.
What do you guys think of Homewrecker with Reserve Shooter? Yay or Nay?

Now I kinda want a Homewrecker Strange more, just to kill people this way.
Me and a friend of mine organized a stragedy of taking engy nests out fast, required a quick fix medic and a homewrecker pyro, all you had to do was wait a while for the uber, pop it near an engy nest, and boom buildings gone. The sight of the stragedy and teamwork cooporation along with the satisfying destruction of the buildings were quite beautiful.

Doesn't sound too good since the sentry gun will help you with the damage in his range.
For me humble opinion I stick with the flare gun, pretty solid damage and huge range but the reserve shooter is quite nasty if you go pyro vs pyro.

Homewrecker + Anything = Yay
I've been waiting for a strange sandvich, really.
Can't live withouth A COUNTER IN MY SANDVICH, vintage isn't enough.

I use Flare guns by default, but I have a defense load out consisting of those two weapons so perhaps context was important. I meant for those two weapons to be combined so I could also airblast and shoot in addition to helping engies.
Stock, Detonator, Homewrecker is the best Defensive Pybro loadout I've come across.
Detonator lets you provide distracting cover fire from a great distance, allowing you to stick to your Engies no matter what.
The stock Flamethrower has better afterburn than the Degreaser. This allows you to light up a Spy, then immediately tend to the Sappers, as the Spy has a much higher chance of just burning to death/getting finished off by a stray shot from an ally. However, it also has a better airblast cost than the Backburner, allowing you to blast away projectiles and stickies, keeping the nest nice and safe.

Personaly if I want to go Pybro, I choose the Flare Gun along with the Homewrecker and the stock Flamethrower, the flare gun allows you to annoy at a distance along with the increased fire afterburn of the stock Flamethrower can get easy kills from far away without leaving the Engy nest.
Good thinking. I usually focus more on offensive Pyro but I ought to try defensive more often.
You know what'd be apples?
If they made it so you could apply strange parts on normal weapons. Yes, it's rarely cheaper than actual strange weapons, and it won't count all kills, but you can keep your customizations (name/desc), craft numbers, who it was gifted from etc.
Maybe they could do a weapon upgrade or something of the sort where if you obtain a Vintage/Strange weapon variant, you can keep you weapon modifications while turning the weapon strange.

But most of the time when the spy gets burned and airblasted he will attack and the sentry gun will kill him right away if you break the sapper first.
Im just like you, I never let go my flare gun unless the enemy is playing with more that 2 pyros and they are pretty agresive. Plus with the flaregun I can hurt the Demos trying to spam stickies for afar.

For Pybro, I would recommend the Backburner.
The more dmg is useful and since you are standing around Dispenser, the airblast isn't a huge problem.
I kinda wish the Strange Part added another prefix to the Strange, since you can only apply 3 of them it could easily work out.
Something like: Completly Rage Inducing Homewrecker. With one Strange Parts
Or: Even More Stranger Strange Homewrecker. With maximum 3 Strange Parts with no kills.
I use these loadouts:
New Stock- Flamethrower, Shotgun, Third Degree
A good, solid loadout. Works pretty well in any situation.
Brown Recluse Spider- Backburner, Detonator, Powerjack
Detonator jumping gets you into all sorts of unexpected nooks and crannys (try getting onto the cart next to the house in the first stage of Dustbowl, they'll never see it coming) which makes for wonderful ambushes with the Backburner. If you corner a smaller, weaker enemy and get them alone, finish them off with the Powerjack for a nice health boost.
Pybro- Flamethrower, Detonator, Homewrecker
Just explained why this is awesome before.
Freaky Freaky Pyro From Outer Spaaaaace- Phlogistinator, Manmelter, Sharpened Volcano Fragment
Every single bit of damage you do causes fire damage, which means you build MMMPH every single time you deal damage. Purely for fucking around, I'll probably replace it once we get the inevitable new Pyro set next week :rainbows:
It's a teamwork oriented weapon, therefore, it's shit.

it's not stupid because it helps teamwork, it's stupid because spy always had the disadvantage and now the class that can completely foil his two methods of stealth can also foil his only method of building destruction
it makes games turtle for longer, which is never a good thing and it makes a spy's job absolute hell
this of course was truer BEFORE we had the spycicle and enforcer, but still
sentry sapping is- or was- meant to be a duel between engineer and spy. their respective teams can help, but if the engineer(s) die, sentry goes down. if the spy dies, the sentry can be saved. if they both die, it depends on if the sentry was sapped or if the spy's team can help
the pyro messes this up. a pocket nest pyro means it's near impossible for a spy to infiltrate that far without being caught, furthermore the killfeed will show the engineer that someone is coming meaning he can be prepared
>rating me dumb
you best explain yourself or i won't be able to refrain myself
Also here's a great attribute with the Homewrecker:
It takes the Engineer's Wrench two hits to get rid of a Sapper.
It only takes one smash to get rid of the Sapper with the Homewrecker.
It's so funny that there's actually good TF2 discussion in the speculation thread, whereas in the TF2 GC we're still chatting about random things.
We are an odd bunch. Aren't we?
Also I'm still having troubles picturing the scorch being anything other than a flaming shotgun type weapon, seeing as the flaregun/Detonator cover everything else a flare CAN do

I know the detonator made more damage over time but I can't use it. Im so bad with the detonator.
