Yeah quickly moving to a flare gun or axetinguisher or reserve shooter is totally fucking useless
Yes because you can do the same with the the other flame throwers, too.
Isn't WETA technically community too...
Technically so but I mean I just don't want constant future themed weapons from WETA replacing other community weapons we would've gotten otherwise.
Why not? It's working out just fine.
Because it's overlap of easy kills at short range, you could switch out the axtinguisher for much needed utility.
Yeah quickly moving to a flare gun or axetinguisher or reserve shooter is totally fucking useless
Reserve shooter? Try the standard shotgun. I have more kills with that thing than my degreaser, and I only use it for pyro. Flares and reserve shooter are okay, but the vanilla shotgun is where it's at.
Yes because you can do the same with the the other flame throwers, too.
65% slower If I was trying to launch someone in the air to knock em down with a reserve shooter I'd prefer the speed, and the speed gives them less escape time from the axetinguisher [editline]22nd June 2012[/editline]
Reserve shooter? [editline]22nd June 2012[/editline]
Because it's overlap of easy kills at short range, you could switch out the axtinguisher for much needed utility.
Oh you think the axe should go. What should I replace it with if I want it to be even easier? Edit: I also couldnt justify owning a reserve shooter otherwise, because I don't want to use reserve shooter on soldier.
Why not? It's working out just fine. I don't really see much point in using flare gun with Axetinguisher since 2 flare pops works like a flare + axetinguisher
Well it does leave you kinda defenseless against enemy pyro since all you're weapons realy on afterburn, except if you participate in one of those flamethrower fights, which is pretty much a 50/50 percent chance of winning.
Oh you think the axe should go. Consider only firing one reserve shooter shot on airblast then switching to powerjack, less ammo loss and you get health gain. Or backscratcher if there's a lack of medics or roaming, either work.

I just hope that someone else deals with the pyros, or use the reserve shooter airblast trick.
Fire fights aren't based off random chance, they're based off which pyro knows how the fire works.
I likely won't play pyro much in the future, but just incase I end up being a pyro in a pool of pyros, enlighten me on "knowing how the fire works", case' I don't know it already.

Used the bullet weapons in tribes? It's sorta like that only a lot easier, aim ahead and set up a line of fire. And the thing about fire fights is the nature of the particles is that they sort of delay and hang in mid air. Ergo if a two pyros fight where one only backpedals and one only charges forward, the back peddling pyro will always win.
happy birthday to me now where's the update come on valve
The situation you are replying to also calls for flare gun/reserve shooter/axetinguisher way more than anything else, using the shotgun in the way mentioned would be kinda pointless.]
I hardly ever use my Axtinguisher since I got a Strange Flare, which (back on topic) makes me kind of hope that the new flare gun isn't one that I'm going to prefer over the stock. I have really mixed feelings about it. It fits the look and feel of TF2 to a tee, as nicely as almost any community weapon does, but it's kind of plain in that picture. I think Team Colors (well, "Team Spirit" as opposed to "Cream Spirit") might have complemented the gray better (and it would probably look much more menacing if it were just a dull gray entirely), but I am pleased that the weapon designer (so far as we might surmise) actually tried to fit the TF2 color palette. I'd like for it to be a reskin of the Manmelter, a weapon which I absolutely adore when I do occasionally put aside my Degreaser and grab the Backburner, because I really hate the way the Manmelter looks, especially on Red with it's little Pepto-Bismol tube sticking out the back. It reminds me of the Noisy Cricket from MiB.
What about circling vs standing the fuck still?
In a pyro fight? You can throw off the others aim circling and put them into a predictable line of movement, but really it comes down to who's chasing and who's evading most of the time. [editline]22nd June 2012[/editline]
Unless you end up going round in loops since both the pyro's are trying to back pedal while getting close enough range, like a dog chasing it's own tail.
Then you need to be switching to your secondary, it happens but that's just the nature of it.

It reminds me of those same spinny things on Monkey Wrenches that I for some reason played with when I was younger. Wait a second Monkey Wrench... could this be another coincidence?

I was sleeping, anything new happened?
I was sleeping, anything new happened?
Some weapon balancing talk and talk about Grodbort weapons in general, not much. Depends on where you left of, as a review from yesterday, we discovered all the Bannana Error codes and got some Saxton Hale and Poopy Joe Backstory/Plot twist short story.
Some weapon balancing talk and talk about Grodbort weapons in general, not much.
How about the codes? And what is this shitty blog post.
Wait, wait, wait up guys... ...is Grimhound being...optimistic?
Expectations do not denote optimism.
How about the codes? And what is this shitty blog post.
The blog post was posted almost immediately after people got the first QR code. And all the codes are done now. http://i.imgur.com/9jjnD.jpg
How about the codes? And what is this shitty blog post.
The codes revealed QR codes, which showed a court case transcript about Saxton Hale and Poopy Joe. Also, Valve revealed a new Pyro Flare Gun for "an upcoming update" while talking about how to make community weapons.

They made community itself, DESERVE the whole MTP thing :V
Edit: Damn... Ninja'd
I'm not saying that grordbort shit is necessarily bad, it's just that everyone here is expecting Meet The Pyro.
Yeah, Valve is going to create a completely extensive ARG to promote a few fucking weapons/cosmetics. That makes a lot of sense. Why has anyone speculated up until now that any of this was anything but Meet the Pyro related? How could you honestly believe that an ARG could be for a Telltale Games promotion or a Grordbort pack? Not that they won't "promote" Grordbort (comics), but they wouldn't go to this length. If this was a simple pack promotion, imagine what the REAL MtP would be like!
