Attempting to wring some semblance of constructive conversation from this thread lets talk about game changing weapons.
I think the Huntsman is a fantastic example of this. It was a new weapon that gave you a completely different way to play sniper. It actually changed the purpose of the sniper from long range assassin to medium range damage dealer. This lead to all sorts of new strategies and ways to play the class. [U]When was the last time Valve did that.[/U] In fact, when was the last time a class even got a primary weapon that wasn't a variation on their current one? Is sniper really the only one? I really hope this update brings in some new weapons for the pyro. What sort of things do you think could accomplish this. Not stupid engineer ideas accepted.
Oh and before someone bawws about me de-railing the thread. Tell me, [B]honestly[/B], do you think the thread is going to remain de-railed for even a second after the update hits?

Don't worry, this thread gets derailed all the time and we were actually talking about things like this for several pages before anyways. You're fine. Also, I agree. I wish Valve would be more daring to make new weapon types with community weapons.

You're one of the few June 2012 members that isn't boxed/clocked to hell and is actually contributing to 'major update speculation'. Cookie for you.
The problem with figuring out new primaries for the classes is simply "What would said class use for their main weapon?" I mean, look at the Huntsman. It's a bow and arrow, something a marksman would probably use. Now think of the Pyro.
Fire. That's pretty much the idea going there. I guess you could [i]maybe stretch it[/i] and put other attributes of the Pyro/Flamethrower for conceptualizing, but it still stands: what would a pyromaniac use for a main weapon that isn't a flamethrower/isn't already done with his current weapons?

I remember someone had the idea of adding a bleeding melee weapon for pyro, which sounds interesting since bleeding and burning is quite a hellish thought.
