Everytime I watch a Spy video it gets me pumped up and enthusiastic to plau Spy.
Then I blow chunks and get my ass blown off twenty seven times. And I get pissed and go do something else.
My biggest problem, it seems, is getting behind enemy lines. There's usually one way to the action, and that way is clogged up with teammates who reveal my position. Even once I pass the battle and plan an attack, I'll get hit by a Spycheck or some shit and I'll have to start over.
And I can't get used to the regular watch. I always fucking run out of cloak right at the worst possible time.
I never run out of cloak with the invis watch i usually find debris or metal boxes also if your team has 3 spy's then i wouldn't recommend to play spy because the other team knows that there are many spy's and then most go pyro and spycheck
I've watched a lot of OMFGNinja's videos lately, and I've wondered, why does the backstab animation very rarely play for him? It's always either the poke or swipe with the knife, yet it's always a backstab.
Why did I get banned for posting a OMFGninja video but this here seems to be fine?
Because Jim isn't a great mod.
I think he plays on No-crit servers which don't play the backstab animation.

That's because he has a very good idea of the knife's range, and clicks right on the edge of it, before the backstab animation can start.
So to perform a successful backstab, do you have to wait until the animation starts? This may be one nick in my problems that I could fix.
This looks really cool. I traded both of my knives for hats... now I can't wait for them to drop again.

Its actually a bit quieter

There was a patch a while ago that fixed it I think. Those videos were made before the patch.
I've never ever had the luck to pull of those chain stabs that he does in the video, the moment you get one person, you're usually flamed down by a pyro, or the 2nd stab misses slightly. Maybe I just play on good servers or something.
Also, wasn't there this video going around that showed that guy filming one of his videos, and it was literally him and a bunch of cronies performing a rehearsed scene? (Or was that video a fake?)
Doubtless however, the video does show ways how to play as the Saharan Spy but I'm doubtful if you could do that on a regular basis because it requires an inordinate amount of luck.
If you are talking about MISSING animation for backstabs there is few excuses , It could be on server without RANDOM CRITS (yes, no animation of CRIT-BACKSTAB) , Turned off backstab animations (but with Crits ON) , or older version.
I bet he plays mostly on servers without RANDOM CRITS.
And look at OMFGninja backpack.... he BOUGHT polycount pack just to show his *skills* in this video.
BTW| Better pc , more fps = better playing
I mean the medic KEPT HEALING HIM.
For like 30 seconds until he got stairstabbed, seriously.
Because when you stab them, the healing beam instantly moves to you, and if they are not looking DIRECTLY at you, they are none the wiser

Do you want to use any more capitalised words?
Cover, the biggest thing you need is the right resolution, fuck your Very High Crysis machine, I can HS the fuck outta you at native no matter the graphics. But change that resolution and miss miss miss.

Not always....
It used to be that backstabbing took ages because the entire animation played before it landed, so good spies timed their backstab to be done with the normal attacking animations because they're faster and backstab anyway, until valve patched it and made backstabs FASTER

Valve should implent a forced animation that shows the spy trying to get the kinfe out of the corpses back. This animation should atleast take 5 seconds, but with the Heavy it should take 10 seconds due to his fat layer of skin.
Edit: It was a goddamn joke. :colbert:
Smart players will look for certain things that show on cloaked corpses. Including Blood stains, Halos, and the Darwin's Danger Shield

TEN seconds of standing there staring at the ground and the heavy's corpse? I'd rather play spy undisguised, uncloaked and only using my sapper.

The guy who made it also has videos "proving" that weapons with odd levels are statistically better than normal weapons and admitting that he's been banned for trolling at least twenty-two times on the same youtube account, so I'm guessing "faked".

He's not a bad guy. Not sure whether or not the OMFGninja videos were faked (varying opinions on all sides), don't want to bother wading through the comments, but the "levels of weapons" video was a joke.
I watched this tutorial and then, in a payload map got 11 backstabs with a total of 14 victims in one life using the Eternal Reward. 25 points. That knife is for me.
Ninja is fake all of his videos are fake, excuse me they are for "entertainment".

He plays with the worst players in existence and picks out the best moments, noticed how he also cuts to a next scene most of the time when it's obvious he's going to die?
Yeah that's what I've always thought, he seems to cut it very short when approaching enemies such as a pyro or heavy. I'd like to see him play live.

I don't think so..
OMFGNinja is overrated. He plays against some terrible players to make himself look better. He's not the only one though, StarCraft does the same. He's another pubstar Spy who claims to be the best Spy there is, but when he tried it in a low level competitive team he got his ass handed to him because all of a sudden his opponents were actively paying attention. Got kicked after a month I believe.
As far as Spies go, one of the very few I trust is DL (also known as TheDL, DLMan). Only person to consistently play Spy against the very best players and still pulls off crazy kills.

I think I'll add tf2gentleman to the list since he both shows his deaths (tho he most definitely also cuts out uninteresting lives where he walks around a corner, taking a direct hit to the face - that's not really interesting) and always says the only way to benefit from a gameplay video is when you also show what went wrong and how you died. Also explains his plans and action in detail.
I think he's trustworthy.

Not sure I trust him, but he definitely gets a plus from me for also showing what went wrong.
