I am guessing that in order to keep it filled with scraps you just go in and craft all the weapons together?
The bot crafts them automatically.

The Bear we hired to operate the bot crafts any duplicate weapons the bot receives.
we initially put around 5 refined worth of metal into the bot's backpack, so He seems to be doing a good job of keeping the Bot's supply of scrap metal in check. We should probably give the Bear a pay raise.

Uh, I am not F2P or have a private backpack or anything, but it rejects my trade attempts.

we have not needed to. 6 pages/600 spaces is the default backpack size, which is more than enough for what the Scrap Bot currently needs.

it cannot reverse scrap bank yet, but we are getting alot of suggestions to make the bot reverse scrap bank-able, and it will implemented as soon as possible.

we have found a bug that causes the bot to crash when specific people try to trade the bot. we dont know what is causing the crash, but resolving the problem it is our top priority before we develop any other bot.

I don't get the use of scrap banks. If you smelt all the weapons you don't need wouldnt you have 4-5 weapons left over each week, 9 worst case?

Lets say I idle, now, let's say I find some weapons, I craft em all, except for two spares I can't craft together. Frustrating, then, a scrapbanker comes in, and gives me a scrap metal for those two spares.
The bot has too many friends to send a request, the bot should automaticly remove his friends after they're done trading.

he gets rather sensitive around the holidays. the bear has a rough family life, to be honest, and the only way he can support his family and defend them from Goldilocks...is to work a full time job as our main scrap bot operator.
we have been negotiating with numerous other bears to help him out and operate other bots we plan on releasing.
Smokey The Bear, Beary White, Beary Sanders and Drew Bearymore are a few notables.
Is there a timeout and temp auto deny for people who decide to sit in the trade box forever?
if not, i highly, highly reccomend adding one that if someone is in the trade box for more than 5 minutes it temp auto denies that user for 5-10 minutes so others can use it.
there is a timer on all trades, so that if someone decides to go afk, or if they time out or their game crashes, the bear will auto cancel the trade, curse alot, eat some honey, smoke a cigarette and get back to crafting :D

we are thinking of making a steam group dedicated to the bots we release so that the steam friends limit can be worked around.
for now you can join the TF2pricecheck steam group instead of adding the scrap bot. it is an admin to the group so its easy to find.

The Scrap Bear would like to release this announcement:
When the Steam API Servers or Item Servers are down for maintenance, The Scrap Bear will auto cancel all trade requests since it cannot comply with Valve's Trade Embargo. The Scrap Bear states that it is not a problem with you or The Bot....it is a problem with Steam.
Please complain to Valve. We are just as frustrated with them as you are.
