Until now, I didn't know there was a difference. I guess I use both.
On TF2B, what does it mean if the item is surrounded by a red ring?
non-vintage hat

I know. It was a joke. Cause I rated him agree... Geddit?

There's an explaination of all the outlines and a full changelog over at the wiki: wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/TF2B
Not plugging, just saying.
Also, tf2b links to the wiki, so it's clearly better. (ok, that was a plug. What of it?)
Tf2b because

I prefer the icons

I never look at someone's item history

it updates very often

I don't need any other place to arrange trades other than FP

it shows the whole backpack on one page
Although I do have to admit that having a person's loadout included does help in some cases.
TF2items has more features. No offense to Shugo but the icons aren't good enough to be the main selling point.
Neat to see what people think about both sites. I do agree that TF2Items has a few more features and have talked with Athernar about implementing some of them, but Athernar mainly wants to keep TF2B to a minimalist design, so stuff like item descriptions won't happen. You can always click on an item to go to its respective wiki page if you need to see attributes.
We do plan to add colored paint cans and particle effects to Unusual hats, so it will get more feature-rich as time passes. I'm also considering doing actual painted hat icons, which is a lot of work, but would be a great feature. At the very least, we have paint splotch icons on painted hats, which is something TF2Items doesn't have. I guess that's one plus for us. :buddy:
By the way, if you don't like my icons, you can always choose "Use Valve Icons" from the menu on the right side of your backpack on TF2B. If you don't want to use the menu every time, just add &iconset=valve to the end of the backpack URL.
Yeah, I've wanted painted hat icons for either of the sites.
tf2b looks sexy
TF2B, hands down.
Also, thread would've made more sense with a poll.
I prefer tf2b... the layout is much cleaner and its kinda faster too..
Tf2items, was first, does it's job well, has shortlinks(tf2ite.ms/nicatronTg), trading, and feels cleaner.
How can you get cleaner than TF2b?
I don't even get what any of you mean by "clean"
imo tf2b has the worst interface I ever seen
Been using TF2items forever. Not going to switch anytime soon!

TF2B also has short links. tf2b.com/nicatronTg
It looks like I'm seeing political shit in here, wow
I love both, let's all be friends
No no, I'm not arguing. Just pointing out features that TF2B has that it looks like a lot of people don't know about, like how TF2B also has the Valve icons.
I see this thread more like a source of feedback. It definitely helps Athernar and I to know what features the community most wants.
If TF2B used a cleaner interface and didn't have weird backpack icons I would use it.

I'm starting to see this a lot. Define "clean"; I don't know what you all mean by it.
TF2B is Clean, TF2items is boring, theres the difference.
Boring? They both serve the same exact purpose.
:smug:
TF2B is Clean, TF2items is boring, theres the difference.
That still doesn't define "clean". :colbert:
But TF2b has pretty colors and I like colors.
Colors are fun.

TF2 items uses the look of the original TF2 backpack interface and TF2B uses some really ugly cluttered version of it.

I can't believe that even after it has been told hundreds of times that TF2B has a valve icons feature, people still complain about it.
I use both, but I prefer TF2B.
Besides. tf2b is broekn as shit, it refuses to load my backpack

It isn't TF2B's fault that you don't know how to use it.
Oopsies, vintage carlton hale is my name on steam, why wouldn't it work using my name?
