Besides if there was an explanation for each item, you guys would just complain about how you don't agree with it.
No we wouldn't, I just added cbast to get his input the other day and saved in in a txt file for future guidance.
I'm trying to learn, not win. Why make a hassle over a prizeless competition?
What people need to decide, is whether they really want a competition, (potentially with prizes?) or an event where a set of items (made in the given time) get carefully examined by some experts?
It seems that most people want the latter, the problem being that it adds much more work for the judges... Writing reviews for 20+ items is non-trivial - so I don't know what the solution is.
They don't have to be reviews, just write down your thought process. It's not like they pulled the numbers out of thin air. They have reasons for giving the scores they did and they can be formulated into a small list easily.
Competition =//= must have prizes
No, but judging from Venezuelan's comment above yours, the lack of prizes meant that there was even less incentive to be competitive - which surely is the point of a competition?
If people just aren't interested in being competitive (regardless of the prizes), then clearly the solution is the second option.

Sure, they didn't pull the numbers out of the air, but having some thoughts in your head does not immediately translate into a well written review. And given how long it took (some of) them this time, it's likely to make the judging process take even longer... But if there are people who would be willing to put aside even more time then that'd be awesome. (Maybe some of the judges would be better placed to comment on this part?)
Speaking of prizes I remember someone saying there was a little surprise for everyone who competed...what became of that ?
I wouldn't mind writings reviews. But please, make everyone use the same architecture for folders, and have a .txt with names of texture/models etc. So we just have to use search and get what we need to see.
This time we had to unzip tons of things (especially with Gold Team Rules which had .rar into .rar). Run through tons of directories to eventually find the model. And then, when we're confident on it's name, try to load it into HLMV. (Also I don't remember who's but an entry made HLMV crash). Using different names could be useful too, possibly not reskinning an existing weapon. Like that we can have all mods installed without conflict.
Just my opinion though, but that's how I could see this part improved.

Don't get me wrong, I gave it my best, I just knew my best wasn't up to the quality others were going to pump out
Fuuuuuuuuuuuck I want the Aetherizer so badddd
Wavesaber.
Our (Moonrakers') Raygun download link leads to a file called 'Contest - The penal Paintovers'. This appears erroneous.
Also, there's an e instead of an a in my name.
Anything new on download links?
Seriously though, anything new at all?
Thanks for including me and Cheezinz names, we had some major problems including being sick, three times.
Oh come on, STILL no Aetherizer?
Oh come on, STILL no Aetherizer?
And the aetherizer should be first...
Also noticed the Major Tom and the Astro Heavy Set's still blank
The Astro Heavy, Aetherizer, Wavesaber, and Major Tom still tease me
