I need your help guys. If you use a program to play music, is it considered "Mic Spamming"? Most people are saying it's not because a it's a program playing it not a mic Answer quickly, please.

I used to administrate, and for a while play, on a server that had plenty of mic spam. They all used HLDJ and such to spam and all referred to it simply as "Mic Spam". It's not technically right, I guess, because it's not technically coming from the users mic, but it's still over voice chat and it's a lot more to the point than "Voice Chat Spam"

Most players collectivley refer to it as mic spam for simplicity. [I]Yes, it does not use the microphone to transmit audio[/I], but getting snobby about the specifics behind it is like getting snobby about an old term that's found new use in a more modern setting. I guess if you wanted to stretch it, the audio spamming program probably uses the same codec or some shit as mics do to transmit sound into the game. I recall at one point Valve tweaked the codec (around the hatless update I think) and for a period of time people couldn't micspam. Although at this point I'm guessing in leaps, bounds, and assumptions. tl;dr who gets anal about a program used to play audio in a video game?
