And Buro, I know tf2outpost is a trading site, but a lot of people make trades where they ask for opinions on their name tags and what not. I am very much aware its a trading site.

Stranges act the same way. They track a player's progress with a particular weapon, the only difference is that they keep increasing ad infinitum (or if there is a hard limit, it has never been reached before). This allows players to personally track their effectiveness of their fighting skill over the course of their entire TF career (after having equipped the Strange).
Having more than 1 strange allows the user to track how frequently each one is used for killing. This can give them a general sense of which ones they feel strongest with and which ones they actually are strongest with. They can adjust their style of play and loadout accordingly if need be.

Leveling stranges is damn fun when you get an amazing kill and the strange level-up too, pretty much icing in the cake. Though in still feeling stupid back when i had all those old stranges that are highly overpriced now, i got pissed at something and sold all them off to get keys, ended up not knowing values and had a really big profit loss.
