How to get EVERY SINGLE TF2 Item (Except the medal)

Fake, I've been doing this since the drop system came out and I haven't gotten a single hat.

And Valve fixed this during the idlercaust, since then I've only gotten 3 items this way.

everybody has the same chance of getting a hat, except for idlers: regular gameplay= 0.1% chance of a hat and when idling(this is in real time here folks) you have a whole 2.0% chance. as i got 1 hat since that update, so there you have it. and the only other things i got were over 30+ duplicates :/.

Well, okay, I'm pretty sure that's wrong. I'm working on getting a better estimate.

I can't seem to track down the values. Does anybody know the average time it takes to find a hat?

Okay, I've got a better number now.

I'm gonna go with 2,108 hours (that's a little under 88 days) of playtime to find all the hats. (Keep in mind that I used a lot of rounding to reach that number, so it's probably inaccurate.)

I got to this number by using an average of 68 hours (You get roughly a 3% chance to find a hat every 4 hours or so; we'll say that the average is at 50%, which is around 17 chances. 17*4=68). Multiply that by the number of hats (31) and you get 2,108.
