Slightly less shitty: Problem is the flares look pretty crap in their official/non-yellow colour scheme, whereas stickies and rockets look quite a bit better. I may just brighten up the flares and then call it done? What do these disagrees mean?
I prefer the cream spirited ones but maybe if you keep the original colors for the flares and rockets but make those parts paintable, one can have both. (as their original colors for those parts aren't available as paint) maybe paint could be pulled off with the stickies too, by making the red part the paintable one problem with having the stickies that way though is that it implies that they're activated which is why i still kinda want them to be gray like the gibs with orange detail
Concept Art. Concept wise it's currently rather dull and similar to the default pistol. Suggestions? I might do a drawing without using Constructors model as a base.
Start with changing the whole top piece. If you're having a hard time coming up with a shape just look at some real guns for inspiration. Also remember to put a place to eject the shells.
requesting this for demoman
Would look epic if the colored lines pulsed.
does the hair particle emitter work in tf2? I.E will it look like hair when it rendered in game?
requesting this for demoman
That's a really cool-looking sword. Is it from Zelda? But yeah, it shouldn't be allowed anywhere near TF2.
Hey, APesquera, remember that concept of yours for a Quijote hat for Pyro? That was my 2nd model ever, and I still have it somewhere, I think I could finish it ;D

If you want to finish it let me know via PM and I'll make some doodles.
http://www.livestream.com/emeriastone Rexy is live streaming making a bomb cart, guy who made all the manor props
Rexy is a legend, go watch it guys
if it's paintable people can just paint the flares yellow if they want them that way
Working on this with Constructor:
Don't forget the front part!
That's a really cool-looking sword. Is it from Zelda? But yeah, it shouldn't be allowed anywhere near TF2.
Why not?
Because it's clearly another style
Because it's clearly another style
And what's stopping whoever models it from altering it to fit? If 'it's a different stye' stopped items from being in the game, I'm pretty sure we'd have a grand total of zero promos.
I'm pretty sure that would be awesome. [editline]10th May 2012[/editline] Bedsides, to make that thing fit TF2 you'd have to strip away everything that makes it unique. You'd just get a generic sword
And what's stopping whoever models it from altering it to fit? If 'it's a different stye' stopped items from being in the game, I'm pretty sure we'd have a grand total of zero promos.
different thing entirely, and most things ingame are somewhat in style, and those are mostly also made with the intention of getting in game, mods don't have to fit anything really people forget this a lot nowadays where we make both :edit: can't tell if i'm being comprehensive and all atm, very tired
How do you make a feather for a hat? thats all I want to know. Like hustlers hallmark.
How do you make a feather for a hat? thats all I want to know. Like hustlers hallmark.
Planes
Planes
I figured that much but how do you cut into them like triangles and shit? for a real feather look.
I figured that much but how do you cut into them like triangles and shit? for a real feather look.
weld the vertices together on the ends
If you're unsure about anything you can open the model in HLMV and enable wireframe mode. From my recollection it's a plane extruded multiple times, with the width varying to fatten it out, and then verts welded at the end. It's also duplicated and flipped to ensure both sides are rendered.
Ooh didn't get what you meant, yeah what urser said
I remember the time when people didn't give a damn what valve thought about their mods, and they were just made for the people. What happened?
I think feathers should have a little bit of thickness tbh, shell modifier in 3ds max
Good modelers make mods for Valve to make money. Bad modelers want to be good modelers. Might as well practice for it.
Decided to rejigg a bit of this harmonica thing. Also as a way to put off texturing it for a little longer. Which one looks better?
I remember the time when people didn't give a damn what valve thought about their mods, and they were just made for the people. What happened?
oh please. Don't act like it's some noble endeavor to make an out of place reference mod that only a small amount of people will like. Those people still exist, but there are more people making proper mods now.
I remember the time when people didn't give a damn what valve thought about their mods, and they were just made for the people. What happened?
The workshop
The workshop
without contribute I'd probably make map props, not silly mods that reference other things. I honestly primarily use mods to overwrite these kinds of things that are already in game
