Doesn't that majorly clip with taunt animations and menu animations? (iirc most minigun clip a little bit with the taunts/menu animations, but this looks like his whole hand would be inside of the case. )
Yes. Funspoiler. (only the taunt, menu anim is fine)
Anyone know any good unwrapping tutorials for 3DS Max? Jesus christ it's boring. And hard.
There are two on here: http://www.kritzkast.com/tf2_mod_guide
Thanks a lot!

Engineer summer misc idea. It's a pile of melted ice cream in Engineer's pocket. Comes with a side strap to hold your spoon and a nifty cone sticking out the top. I wish I knew how to model. :(
I wish I knew how to model. :(
So learn? Plenty of free resources out there. Edit: One to start with.

I'm a programmer, I know how to actually implement the item in-game, but actually building it is not something I can do well. I took a modeling class at school, and it wasn't... great at all to look at my final project.
Hmm... gears turning from this image.
I don't have any artistic ability.
(My bad if come off as an ass, no offense intended) A lot of professional 3d artists aren't that great at traditional fine art, and your ability to make nice-looking things won't increase without at least some practice. Last I checked Svdl's first model wasn't that great looking.

I emphasized "crash" because I'll probably careen into the learning curve like it was a brick wall :v: You might as well give it a shot, it's not like you have anything to lose. You can only gain from here on out.
I have a Sniper summer hat idea. Real life pictures of it: In a desert summer, you want something to keep the sun off of the back of your neck to prevent sunstroke. Its obviously a wide brimmed hat with a flexible sun shield. A second style could be called "Sunstroke," for the shield is folded up: Pictures are of me holding the hat in my messy ass room. Sorry for long post. Camera takes 1023x685 pictures; can't really do much there.

I'm a programmer too, I went to school to learn programming... and then I learned 3D modeling in my spare time and oh look I have an item in-game.
That is a terrible reason. For 10 weeks I had to model something new every week in Maya, including a full animation. It just never clicked. I wasn't ever able to make anything that didn't look like a formless blob or a solid block.

Hi guys, this is my first time here. I downloaded TSO's Extinguisher files yesterday, and it's textures were missing. then I found out that it has his barberpole's texture instead. I'm wondering if there is anybody who have a fix for it and can kindly give me a download for it. Thanks for reading.

Redoing the alien mod with jiggleboned neck and eyes among other changes (no this is now how it will look in the end. this is just a result of glitchy jigglebones) On a related note I discontinued my previous version
Also I sit here wishing I wasn't flipping grounded.
What exactly should I say when I bitch to valve about the Man Melter having muzzle flash effects set up but not being properly mapped to the weapon?
Oh god that's perfect! Well... I hope it is... Things can look completely different once in 3d. Actually, uh... Do you think you could make it white? Same shading and everything, just make it white?
I'm on it. http://filesmelt.com/dl/ringOfFire1.png http://filesmelt.com/dl/ringOfFireBright.png http://filesmelt.com/dl/ringOfFireDark.png thar.
In other news, I have now officially crowned myself as the Worst TF2 texturer 2012 Mostly because I worked up the courage to have a stab at this: Hid the holder for a moment because I don't know how I'm going to make that look passable Go ahead and be harsh, I have no idea what I'm doing
What exactly should I say when I bitch to valve about the Man Melter having muzzle flash effects set up but not being properly mapped to the weapon?
"Manmelter: Idea for Unused Muzzle Flash" Then start off explaining what is unused about it, go into detail if you want. They know their game, don't feel ashamed to get as technical as you want. Then explain how they can implement it. Make sure you do this as absolutely technical if you can. If you know files names, or even how it's coded, provide as much as you possibly can. If you're telling them it's easy to implement, make sure you explain it in a way that shows how easy it is. Send it to the entire TF team, use the Valve email form on their site.
What exactly should I say when I bitch to valve about the Man Melter having muzzle flash effects set up but not being properly mapped to the weapon?
Just tell them TO FUCKING DO IT RIGHT NEXT TIME OR YOU WILL RIP GABEN IN HALF AND TURN THEIR GUTS INTO SNAKES! No seriously, just ask them if they could give it a fix. It's not an animation fix so they might put in their long checklist alongside the Rocket Jumper fix... at the bottom of their well. Ned has a better idea. Follow his. Being professional.
Well the thing is that I don't know how the particle systems are attached to the weapons. Should it just be like: "I'd like to ask about the unused particle systems for the Man Melter. It has unused idle, muzzle flash, impact and team colored projectile effects." (And then the names of the unused systems) Fuck, I don't know. I've never made a request to important people before... In other news... The way that the rings are all wavy is a lot more delicate than I thought.
