as a scout melee. It's the Spur from Spiral Knights. Animated. No projectile launching. Texture unfinished. Been wanting to make it for quite a while now. Dunno why I just got the motivation today to actually do it.

If you do decide to release the original one, you should make it replace common hats, like: Foster's Facade, and whatnot. We can make do with the clipping. The epicness of it will make up for the clipping.

Guys, I just thought of something.
Since the inception of the Saxxy animations, tons of weapons have been made to use them, and thus they are easily transferable to other classes.
So, what if Valve made the Pain Train for all 7 of the melee-weapon-flexible classes? (Scout, Soldier, Pyro, Demoman, Heavy, Medic, and Sniper)
When you think about it, its purpose can serve any class well.
Maybe exclude Scout.

Two people made them for the medkits, now we just need someone to port either one to the Sandvich/Steak.

Stripes won by quite a lot, so here's a better version of stripes, possibly the final version of the hat texture too (enough people like the goggles that I'm leaving them as they are):

I dont think putting colors from the player palette on a weapon is a good idea, it wont be very easy to recognise as a weapon and it might even blend in with his jacket from the front.
Also, I mostly told you to make them team colored so you wouldn't be limited to neutral hues, but I don't think you should be using only team colors either as that is also very limiting
